Possibly but I think school meals during holidays, food poverty and the need for food banks is bound up. Not just a UK problem plenty of other "1st world civilised" countries rely on charities and volunteer help to feed the needy. Edit, it's global in fact, this doesn't make easy reading. https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/en/IP_20_714
You're quite right. People should just let politicians gat on with running the country. They know what they're doing and what is best for us after all.
Oh I quite agree. I find it astounding that ANY “civilised” country (I’m unsure if U.K. qualifies any more) would have people unable to earn enough to feed themselves and their children. It’s like governments the world over have abdicated responsibility to charities and donors. It’s what made me so mad with all the people saying how wonderful “Major Tom” was for walking and raising millions for the NHS. It shouldn’t be needed - it should come from the government and not individuals!!! You don’t see the bastards who’ve profited hugely from PPE contracts giving back to the community ....
I think we can all give ourselves a pat on the back. That's really good that we've all helped in these times. Well done everyone
Top stuff everyone. And well done Chilcs for starting the thread and ensuring it didn't stay an idea only. The Echo can **** clean off though.
