Hi Folks,

This thread is dedicated to to a good friend of ours that we lost last year!

It's a virtual pub you can go to, chill out and discuss whatever you like (as long as it does not contravene the Not606 rules).

We also hope its a place that visitors to the Leeds forum will come to, and post a little bit about themselves and what bought them to this Leeds forum in particular.

Everyone raise a glass to Boggers - our friend.

Great refurbishment work on the new Boggers Bar ellandback, I love the chalk board with the names on. Let's hope this is the season Leeds can get back to the promised land and give Boggers something to look down on and smile about, he would have loved the positive vibes after the Stoke game.

Not sure one of our old owners would have liked the colour scheme, might have had you closed down if he was still in charge, I'm surprised you didn't put a number 17 on the door to keep him out.

Cheers to all Leeds fans, past, present and future and to what could be a very exciting season <ok>

Brilliant well done. Has anyone been in touch with Mrs Boggers and let her know, give her a link for her family and friends etc? <applause><applause>

I have done, I wonder if the images display if your not signed in? I think Jan is more than likely to access via Boggers account either way

I’ll attempt to answer this. I left my proper job back in 2007 just as we were relegated to the 3rd division. My online name was chosen for the old BBC site, 2020 being the year I thought we’d not only be back in the Prem, but also up in the Champions League places. Now, I’d take just being in the Prem.

I was born and brought up in LS11, walking distance to the ground (near the Tommy Wass pub, for those who know it) and started watching Leeds in the early 60’s when we were mid table in the second division (some things don’t change :) ).

I live in the south now. Due to personal circumstances I rarely get to home games but watch away games when Leeds play in the south. Usually go with a friend also from Beeston who I’ve known for over 60 years.

Came here when BBC site closed, I do use other sites but not often.

I alway had you down as a 40-50 something age group 20/20, nice post and I’ll follow on from you, I’ve told this story before on here somewhere but as this is an official introduce yourself thread too <ok>

My name is Richard, I’ve supported Leeds since I was around 5 years old, 1972 when two of my older cousins tried to bribe me into supporting their teams one being Leeds the other supporting that team in red that we better not mention in the bar.

With the offer of a wrist band, pennant, two badges and a scarf I officially became a Leeds United supporter. I didn’t really know a thing about Leeds or football until a few years later probably around 76 when I found myself writing down Leeds players names on the back of school books Frank and Eddie, Trevor Cherry, Arthur Graham, McQueen all emblazoned over my books.

First game I attended was away to Ipswich the year we were relegated, 81/82 a friends dad took me. After that game in the 80s I remember spending Saturday afternoon with either Ceefax or Teletext on waiting for the scores to appear, I was starting to become obsessed.

Mid 90s to early 00s my job was well paid and I actually brought a car that would get further than the edge of town without breaking down and I got to Elland Road at least 7-8 times a season as well as one or two away games when they were fairly local.

I’m now self employed working most Saturdays, my username is just the first two letters of my first, middle, and surname.

Im Kevin in real life, not a million miles from the 60 mark. Despite what Marcos says I live in Westmeath, Ireland obviously.
68 was my first vague memory as a Leeds supporter. Only access to info back then, as flights were too expensive for my parents was MOTD, BBC Radio on the bird whistling channel and Shoot magazine. Back then Leeds felt like the other side of the world, today its just around the corner.
Also self employed, family all working for me and caught for work most Saturdays. Hence difficulty in making a lot of games
