Glad he played, accordingly to people that went they said bodde and tate were looking unfit but ferrie had some Nice touched.

If i was manager i would keep ferrie in the stiffs till NeXT season, if he isnt looking fit now, why rush. Better for him to have a full pre season me thinks ;)

It's been almost 2 full seasons since Bodde's last issue with his knee problem . Soon as he's up to fitness levels ,send him out towards the end of a few games & start him not long after .

I'm sure I'm not the only Swan who has been eager for every bit of good news about FB over the last 3+ years, and this is great news. It really would be a fairy story if he can come back and really contribute this season. It has to be said that the odds are against him - its been a nightmare time - he has already failed with one serious comeback - he has never played in the PL - there is now a long list of players ahead of him in what is now a genuinely strong squad and he only has a contract extending to the end of this season. BR has already shown his ruthlessness in disposing of fringe players so the pressure will also be on FB to perform in front of a manager who really doesn't know him or what he can now do at this level. But I hope BR can sense what the supporters will want and both give him a chance and take the pressure off him as I'm sure we all agree this guy could still be a special player for us.

This. He's obviously going to be unfit, and nowhere near "match" fitness yet, but 2 or 3 full reserve games and I'd like to see him starting to get 20/30 minutes off the bench. Remember everyone complaining about our boring sideways football? Replace Gower with Bodde for the last 30 minutes, with Dyer and Sinclair out on the wings ready to burst, and we'll score loads of goals. We haven't had anyone (barring Ashley Williams! Respect!) trying to hit long balls for Dyer (& Sinclair) to run onto in ages, because no-one has the ability to do it in the split second you have to play the pass. Ferrie has that. We can play the fluid attacking football when it's working, but if it's not, our "boring sideways football" that's got us so many clean sheets suddenly became a lot more dangerous.

    Ferrie, we await your return.

Yes having Bodde offering a threat through the middle with his shooting ability will add something else and give us more room on the wings. However am I the only one to think that the Tottenham game might have been the real turning point for us? And induced the Villa result. We struggled at first -away as we were chucked in the deep end at Man City and Chelsea but we are really improving now not, like Blackpool last season or QPR this, beginning to struggle. Spurs are the form team in the country and we more than held our own. We made Villa look simple and now if we can beat Arsenal I really think an 8-10 final league position is a strong possibility. Its a way to go but with our very positive looking squad additions and returns, great team spirit, Fortress Liberty and now greater confidence away from home things look good........

not going to happen i have been told by fans that were actually at the match. He made one good pass against a bunch of reserves that anyone can do, he is way way off the pace even against youngsters who were rubbish. if he ever comes up against good players then he will get hurt. curtis was very kind on his report but he knows he will never make it in the premiership, he said tatey is nearly there and could if pressed make the bench against arsenal but boddie has a long way to go......

As expected, Dai. Bodde had a far more serious injury than Tatey and has been out of the game for longer. Give him the proper time to get back and fully fit and I know who I would rather have in the team.

This thread has been here a long time, and i have occasionally looked on it. But I haven't read all of the comments...I did see quite a lot of negativity on here towards him in terms of doubting wether he could come back.
Well he has made another step towards that recovery, and I am absolutely chuffed!
for me, this is more than Bodde getting back to his best for the good of the Swans. I would be genuinely happy for him. It must have been such a horrible journey he has been on, and if he was to recover it is what fairytales are made of. It would be an incredible story, and what he would feel to make it back.

I'm not getting my hopes up too much too soon, but there is an emtional connection to this situation for most of us, and I'm sure we are all hoping he comes back to his absolute best, and storms the premiership...I have been telling my friends in London to watch out for this player for a couple of years now!

i would love to see boddie back to his best but i agree that we should not hold our breath on this, fairy tales just dont happen with injuries like bodds,.... the club wont disrespect boddie in the press but i bet curtis has given brendan who insidently has never seen him at first hand play... the verdict on what to realistically achieve with bodds.....his class will always be there its whether his fitness and his knee will hold him back to the extent that he will just not be good enough to even contemplate premiership football. its such a shame for him but he is not the first or will be the last player that has had his career cut short through his type of injury....

exactly.....and thats what he is suppose to say. he will give him a fair crack but i bet he already knows he will never make it to the first team in a month of sundays, he has more chance of calling it a day at the end of the season than ever playing for the first team....

A player never loses his class, fitness can be achieved again, through patient step by step build up, and it's clear that Bodde is giving it a good go, and the boy needs all the positive feedback we can give, to support him in his endeavour, far too early Dai to be making judgement on his first game back after years, let's be positive with this, and see what develops, all I will say is all the very best Bodde on getting there, we are all behind you!....................

never lose the class Phil, we just get slower. as with all of you, hope he makes it back but, even barring another injury, it will be a slow process i think. just keep building up his fitness in the reserves (where can i get a reserve team table)

reserve matches are on a break at the moment, we have been arranging our own reserve matches, the youth are in the 5th round of their cup and if they can beat pompey youth they have a home tie against Man utd youth.....its worth watching these youngsters that i do from time to time.....

We seem well served in midfield at the moment so there is no need to take any risks in rushing Bodde back. I will be happy if he is fit and raring to go for the start of next season - for all our sakes, I hope that that will be in the PL.

with a bit of luck it would be nice to have him back especially after all the thousands that have been spent trying to get him back, but come on this has to be the last chance on this because if he is not up to the standard by the time we start playing our pre-season games next season then we must call it a day and admit he has failed, otherwise how much longer can we throw money away for no return.......
