Strong overlap there in terms of taste and history. Includes Peter Green as my favourite British guitarist, who I saw often in the early Fleetwood Mac, alongside Jeremy Spencer, in the days when they were a blues band. Mention of Steampacket reminds me of meeting Julie Driscoll, although singing with the Brian Auger Trinity by then. Beautiful lady.

This is the 'nearest' I've found to a version I've got on a bootleg - 'In The Garden' - where he's so, so-o-o-o strung out

Jeremy Spencer was great in an Elmore James style way, love his playing on Shake
Your Money Maker, but a not very pleasant person given his involvement with the Children Of God and their practices with children.
For some odd reason Marsha Hunt was with Steampacket in the bar the night I saw them. Got a kiss off her as they left. How she could step down to Jagger I just don't know.<laugh>

Had that pleasure too. Had to summon her from the ladies bog at Leeds U. Union to get her to get on stage. Gorgeous she was...

    ...as a bonus...

I remember, all those decades ago, thinking she was as hot as hell. Looking now at those pics, she seemed pretty ordinary.

He certainly tried to take the piss out of Dylan with that song.

Too true Stan. Bloody marvelous dogs. It's the same field but it's like the first time he's seen it every time.

I sure miss my little old Terrier bitch. Next-door have an old black Lab., and have just got a Border Collie pup called Harry.

Breaks my heart, 'cos I'm not mobile enough to have another dog myself (walks*)

That depends how you measure highest mountain.

I don't see the point in saying there is one best poet or lyricist anyway, I'll take the good wherever I find it.

One of mine (yes all me own words)

From a moment in time many years ago
I fell in love well I thought so
She lived near me in a house not far away
I used to see her nearly every day
But time moved on and we became history
That's the thing with girls always a mystery
We all grew up just had to I suppose
One door opened and another one closed
We had friends at school and other places too
But when work came along it all started anew
I realise now it was fun being a kid
A lot more than being an adult ever did
I'm now at an age when the end is near
Will it be now or in another few years?
Along the way there has been some fun
Much of it ended before it began
But back to the girls what became of them?
And would I want to meet them again?
Someone once said 'it's not a trial run y'know'
But I'd like to give life just one more go.

Do I get a nomination for next years prize? :)
