I posted that team yesterday but Mckenna next to Chester. Rosenior Ayala Hobbs Dawson Mckenna Chester Evans Harper Koren Matty. NP will go more defensive away from home tho!!
I don't like this team. No way would Pearson play that, it's far too narrow and doesn't offer us anything. I think we'll see something like: Rosenior Ayala Hobbs Dawson/Dudgeon Stewart Mckenna Harper Koren Fryatt Simpson Tbh, the centre midfield looks quite defensive but it allows stewart and Koren/New winger to have more freedom to go forward and support. I've dropped chester cos I think if we sign Ayala, he won't get a look in and Evans because I don't rate him much.
I can't believe anyone would put Harper ahead of Evans, there isn't a single part of his game that comes close.
It may well happen for a specific match or 2 away from home when NP wants to clog up midfield and play the counter attacking game. But when fit and if still here i expect Olifinjana/McKenna/Harper to be vying for the same spot in home matches. At least this time around NP has a choice and good competition. Unlike this time last year.
olifinjana and koren would be brilliant, id be more then happy with mckenna and koren...but i cant see either
Koren's only of value if they get him out of the habit of going missing in games. Certain players got stick for making mistakes, when the reality was they were out of position covering for certain others.
Imo Harper brings a lot more in terms of experience and I think he's fitter. When it actually comes to kicking a football Evans is only slightly better, but again thats my opinion. I didn't see enough of him last season to make a really good judgement so I'll base my opinions from what I see him do on the pitch this season.
oh no, Chester at CB or nowhere else, he's a very good defender but not a midfielder. I'll retain judgement on McKenna until we see him play, I've a sneaky feeling he'll be a hit who's going to play RW while Cam is out?
Harper does come in for some stick, but he kind of helps the team gel. Still we'll see if McKenna replaces him though, probably will do.
Evans played 18 games for us last season, Harper played 28, what were you doing, looking the other way?
