At one point, you were talking about me having an avatar of Sol Campbell lifting the title for Arsenal. Clearly, at that point, you had no qualms about "changing the rules." What's changed your mind, Pixie? The "rules" are not set in stone, anyway. I certainly never saw myself as being limited to a Tony Adams avatar - that wouldn't have been that much of a humiliation.

Oh I'm pretty sure a Pic of Tony Adams holding aloft the PL trophy would have sufficed, no matter how much you claim it wouldn't have affected you. I think people got a bit carried away with the suggestions, but for the bet to be valid, you have to stick to the rules. <ok>

Did you or did you not suggest a photo of Sol Campbell lifting the title for Arsenal? And did I protest that that would be "against the rules?"

Someone should run a poll seeking posters' opinions on whether or not they believe that Pixie is bottling this avatar issue...

On the contrary. I'm playing by the rules.

You bottled he challenge before it had begun : 'I will not give up my avatar !' <laugh>

That wasn't bottling it, it was making a plain statement that I wouldn't permanently give my avatar for anything, whether it be this bet or anything else. As soon as it was clarified that the loss of avatar would be for a temporary period only, I jumped on board, and you had to be coaxed in.

Having joined in the bet, I was suggesting all kinds of avatars for you, and - at that point in time, when you were cocky about Arsenal's chances of catching us - you were not so eager to cling so desperately to any rules. Indeed, you were suggesting all kinds of avatars for me, including your favourite - Sol Campbell lifting the title, which had you engaging in many a chuckle. Now, that it is almost certain that you are going to be the loser, suddenly you are clinging like a limpet to some nebulous rule.

That, to any reasonably minded person, sounds like a massive bottle job, I'm afraid.

That's an admirable rant <laugh> but I'm afraid you bottled the challenge right at the beginning, by blubbing and refusing to 'give up' your avatar. As soon as I change my avatar you will have lost this challenge :)

Toon will be fuming with us today for gifting Sunderland a point ....
