I really dont know what's going on inside that club but if the fans are willing to give a new manager a chance, which I know is very unlikely, then either of those two names may just have half a chance of turning things around.
Curbishley would do a decent job too, but, as you say, it doesn't really matter who they bring in the crowd are too eager to turn and vent because of Ashley and the players know they're a mistake away from being booed and it affects them massively.

Curbishley is far too much of a southerner to be given a chance. Until Shearer the coward puts his balls where his mouth is and takes the reigns (and fails) they'll never realise.

I would love it, just love it, if took the job and was as succesful as he was last time. Even McLaren has a better win ratio than Shearer

what rep they have already been sacked ..get it right though then the rewards could be worth it ..

Well, LVG and Roberto Martinez (with the money he's had at Everton) are repairing Moyes reputation :)
As for Brendan Rodgers, I think a deal is already in place for him to take over at ours at the end of the season.

Shearer has it nice and comfy sitting on the MOTD sofa, he wouldn't risk taking on the role.
shearer does not like the owner or the way its run im afraid ..if that changed then he would be straight back i recon or under somebody , he bleeds black n white

i am not a lover of rodgers he fooks about with formations to much ...

Reputedly, Ashley is a control freak. Can't keep, his nose out of transfer targets, team selection, etc. if that has any truth to it, his options amongst good managers are going to be limited.

He'd better do something fast though. Getting relegated is an expensive business nowadays!

If McClaren isn't sacked tomorrow I think the Toon board is going to blow in ****ing hilarious fashion<laugh>

Come on Newcastle...I'm a Geordie this weekend.

Let's get some of that new manager syndrome kicking in by the weekend.

I'm surprised it didn't blow ages ago! Shearer is right, the whole club is a ****ing shambles from the top on down!...

Unbelievable how he's survived for so long at Newcastle. The club is a shambles and they will have to do more than just sack McLaren to put things right. It goes right through the coaching, scouting, recruitment and youth set up. They basically need to rip up the plans and start again.

... go for it ... me too ... until we kick there arses just after the weekend :) ... bit worried about the Villa mind .. think they might just pick up 3 points this weekend now that the pressure is off and they are playing one of the division's 'flagging' outfits .:)

It's all relative.

Sorry Fosse, I'm one person who isn't going to tag along Leicester's butt munching....there's enough people rimming you here, much to your pleasure.

:-(

Bambi indulges profusely in homo-erotic fantasising of the most rampant kind, so butt-munching would be right up his alley (so to speak).

<laugh> says the guy who put way.way too much information about his 'preferences' on a Disney cartoon recently and professes to having a male dummy in his closet ... and there was me thinking that you and Rupert merely held hands, stared adoringly at each other and shared your favourite stories about Gladiators ... what a world we live in eh? ...
