So are Arsenal doing another bottle job? I was watching LVG's fluid United fulfil all the philosophy promise.

There's a party on the United board. For only the second time this season we have been able to watch a game that we won which didn't make our eyes bleed from boredom.

So far the party consists of mostly United fans although obviously there are the usual Chelsea fans (bar one who managed to get himself barred today for persistent stupidity and tedium) who keep making a strange noise that sounds like "Pep, Pep Pep" before chuckling like Muttley.

Who was banned - out them

I think it was Blueman.
It was indeed the Blueman. I tried to help him. He kept prodding at one of the Mods (who I think he envied for various reasons) but he is a man of very limited intelligence. Bless him, he tries to partake in what he considers to be banter but in reality it's him posting very dull, childish nonsense until he loses the plot and just gets abusive. Personally I like him, he's become a bit of a project.

That's how I see that Spanner, Lee. Sure, he'll get himself banned now and then for threatening to stab or shoot people, but deep down inside I truly believe there is a softer, more feminine side desperately trying to get out.

I think you have to give Klopp time. He's inherited a bunch of players that he probably would not have chosen himself. He will soon sort the wheat from the chaff.
Just as it's taken time for Pochettino to form the team he wants, and the style of football he wants, so it will take Klopp time too.

There's some truth to this but there have been some shocking results against teams Liverpool should have been beating with the players they have. I think it's fair to judge him on that and he's in danger of becoming a tad overrated.

I see your point. I think his original idea was to try and impose his system on the players available. Now, he seems to be experimenting to see what might work. So far, it ain't!...

I think he's been surprised at just how competitive the PL is and just how **** his squad is.

I suspect he's gutted he got himself trapped at Liverpool just before Guardiola jumped ship at Bayern. He now has to wait a few years before Ancelotti steps down and if he spends all that time at Liverpool then his reputation will be in the toilet by the time Bayern's directors start looking for a new manager.

I have absolutely no sympathies for managers who take either the 'Pool, Chelsea or United jobs. Each of them is a poisoned chalice. If they win things, people will say, "Yeah, well, that was expected." If, as is more likely (given the competitive nature of the EPL) they don't win things, people will damn them.

Any manager worth his salt ought to be going to these clubs and saying to the chairman, "I'll coach your squad, but you put me on a 5 year contract, and you state openly, to the fan and the media, that I am in the job for the long haul and that for the first three seasons of my tenure where we finish in the league, even if it's bottom half, will not affect my position, as we are in a building phase."

Do you think that's what Moyes told United? Or what Hodgson or Rodgers told 'Pool? Of course not. They would have fed the egos of these chairmen and ingratiated themselves into their respective roles.

Note that Stan himself was banned from our board today. Forgive him if he feels very foolish today. As per usual.
