Unfortunately, you're probably right. For some perverted reason, Clarkson is really popular and because of the money his shows generate, he can basically call the shots. He has become an Ogre as a result of this misplaced support and it's allowed his racist, bigoted, pig headed arrogance to flourish unchecked.
Clarkson is liked because he doesn't fall in line with all the over the top PC bullshit that we have nowadays. I'd much rather watch him on the TV than all the do gooders that act in the exact same way as everyone else all the time. As many others have said since this story was announced; if you don't like him then don't watch him but millions do like what he does. Personally, I hope they (I'm convinced May and Hammond will stick with him) do ****off to Sky. They will get a bigger budget and more freedom to do the show.
