Talk is that Tan & Sam have signed the paper work to pay of The Langston Debt

Papers were signed in their lawyers offices this morning.

Just need to wait for the club to call it.

Honorary Life President!! I do not want to be ungrateful to Sam for getting us on the road to where we are today but this "Honorary Life President" is pissing me off.
 
It's just a title I believe. It was mention a while ago as one of the bargaining points.

He has no actual input or influence at the club as far as I'm aware.
 
Hey ho, life goes on. You can't always get what you want and near enough will sometimes do.

I guess the aim for both sides was to get as near to their ideal position, concede some, and not lose face. If that has been achieved then we, as fans, must all move along with it regardless of how unpalatable some of it may be.

Honorary Life President, so what, it doesn't look like he is on the board or have shares or be anywhere near the till so in reality he has no influence. If VT wants a little football chat occasionally then I guess he has Sam's number.

The interesting bit will be the crowd's reaction when Sam shows up at games.

I wonder if that was what VT was referring to when he talked about supporters' negative and unhelpful reactions last week? If Sam turns up perhaps he wants him treated with some respect - just to keep the face saving going. That is going to be interesting.

As with everything the devil is in the detail so I wonder how much VT has paid him to get rid of the debt?

Next step for VT - capitalise as much of his loans as possible, as soon as possible.

Sam was at one of the games towards the end of last season. Don't think there were any problems. He has no financial control which is top priority.

Agree with that final sentence Spark.

Talk is it cost 15mill and Sam's accountant has a place on the board, but we know how long these last with Tan.

I think once it's sorted fully that will change.
 
Has it actually been paid though? Just because we have a deal it doesn't mean we are clear yet. After all, with the original deal we didn't have to pay it off until 2016 anyway.

It's a good point but I think VT wants this settled more than anyone.
 
Its on the official site so this time id say the Langston issue is sorted.

I expect the stadium name to be changed very soon.

Sam had the naming rights. This is no longer the case.
