Sorry but your lack of action, which I've noted many have pointed out to you, is your downfall, probably the reason some like myself handle it the way we do, and until you sort out this, I'll carry on merrily!...............
Okay dragon I have tried to point it out that the process is being discussed between Swansea and Cardiff mods but it has fallen on deaf ears. Therefore, one more divisive comment and I will request a temp ban on your account.
Stevo, yeah and I have no problem implementing something mid-discussion. He'll probably create a thread over on his own board saying we're oppressing him and we're a bunch of ****!
That's exactly what he's aiming for. Get banned by being a totally non productive wum. Then go back and report how hypocritical we are for slagging off their dictatorship then starting our own. Perhaps the ignore option is the way forward instead.
I don't understand where this thread as gone, it started by asking Cardiff fans their opinion and ended up with Cardiff and Swansea mods deciding what to do, that is, what to do to sort out the problem caused by jacks on our boards! Give us a delete button, that will stop the likes of one line harrys like dragonphil, and will also keep threads going if the OP decides he doesn't want wums. Banning isn't a good thing, just fuels up the anger. I mean jesus, we can't even keep this thread under control.
Hey the fact this thread has lost it probably highlights the need for action We can't just give you a delete button both because a) we just can't and b) can you imagine what would happen if anyone could delete? Lol We did ask your opinions, many think bans are now required, but the fact those voices are being lost to all the nonsense highlights the new for action going forward Im not going to disclose content but im sure you've guessed discussions are ongoing, supermods included, about the best way to handle this whilst keeping banning/deleting and general mod interference to a minimum. Bans may cause anger, but at least not here eh?
Yes, I can imagine what would happen if we had a delete button, scrap that, I know what would happen if we had a delete button, we had one on the old 606. Bans will cause anger, and that anger will end up on here, from both sides, it's been a longstanding practice of Cardiff fans to give as good as they get when their board is invaded, some of that ability has been lost in the PC world of not606. The structure and integrity of this forum is coming undone, made possible by just a few, if the boards fails it will be because of a few who are left to run amok. The ignore is akin to punishing the victim rather than the culprit. You might not have the capability to give the OP a delete option now, but surely it is possible to have one made available at some time, then those who want can put up with the drivel, those that don't can simply eliminate the posts that annoy, and that can be moderated so it isn't abused just because somebody is losing an argument. For me, things will either improve or I will only bother to read posts and not bother taking too much part in things, as I have been doing a lot lately. Good luck with sorting it out.
Create a democracy, use the poll to decide if an individual poster gets a temp ban. I am trying to help here after seeing my own board go through a similar thing when some Cardiff fans were wumming. None of my suggestions need be seen as a contribution to the solution but all I am saying is that since action was taken on our board things have more or less returned to normal.
It might work VRD the only thing I can see that might go wrong is there are a few posters who would like to get the badge for the 1st ban, there are one or two already trying to be the 1st.
Sbff I think you had a report button, not a delete one. You still have that, dont think it ever gets used though. We really can't win Lets see where what happens
We have jh and they have dpj. JH is banned from the swans board so maybe we should just ban dpj and call it a draw.
Welshman! I could turn that statement on it's head and say one of the worst to goad JH is Musty. It's how we all interact. Phill just tries to appease the Groovy Gang. Phill will be a hero over there if he's banned. Musty........
Pont! If the outcome is a choice of either/or then yes. If it's a case of as well as do what must be done.
Just calling it as I see it at this point in time but you could well be right. To me dpj is a lot more tedious and adept at derailing threads and musty just seems to jump in & agree with everything he says. JH & Aber annoy the crap out of me sometimes but they're on our board and usually reacting to comments made by a swan interloper rather than starting it.
Just to clarify Pont, the delete button on the old 606 was indeed a delete button, you could delete the comment/post of another poster if you were the OP, but only if you were the OP, the report was another option. It's very sad to see it come to this, but with a bit of luck you Mods can sort out an option that at least appeases most of us.
Fair enough I stand corrected. You've got a bloody good memory (does ring a bell now you've clarified) Unfortunately I dont think the site has that functionality but feel free to PM me should you want me to look at something Perhaps Ive been a little liberal in my modding and can nip things in the bud, but to be fair by the time I get there DEFCON 1 has been reached and even the UN are withdrawing.
