I'm sure there was some sort of time limit on shot times which a lot were falling foul of. I was a bit embarrassed to be there though. Lots of dudes were turning up with purpose made boxes which had different compartments with all their players in. Some had painted the strips and had their own colours, home and away. I remember one lad pulling out a can of Mr Sheen and a duster, I thought what the **** is this kid doing, the housework? Turns out he polished the base of his players to make them glide quicker It seemed a bit of a weird world, so perhaps having freakish nails was an accepted practice. It was quite enjoyable taking out a few "pro's" along the way, but the final could have been about 10-1. Kids were crying and all sorts, I thought "my dad would batter you for that you little pussy" What's wrong with super gluing your conker like?
