Let's stick to Semi Finals & keep it relevant. Last time they won The Challenge Cup they beat St Helens in the Semi Final in front of a massive crowd of 16171
I know that. You know that. Everyone but Gollum, Tingle and FC and Rovers fans who all think all those people are there to see the famous Hull teams. Little mention is made of the fact that there have been larger crowds than the FC v Rovers one.
There was some clown who texted into Talksport on RH tonight saying that this was supposed to be a football city but FC sold 30,000 for Wembley last year. Of course Matt Dean and Smurthwaite said nothing though someone e-mailed in pointing out that leaving aside the fact nothing like 30,000 went it was a final not a semi-final and as far as semi-finals go FC took a massive 7,000 on the long trek to Huddersfield. Mind you some of our fans are an embarrassment. One texted in to say we may have only sold 27,000 of our tickets but if we get to the final watch the demand for tickets rocket. Don't they realise we would only get 25,000 for the final?
Sure he's a great bloke etc etc But he's possibly the dourest man I've ever heard on radio. Yet, he's on the show most times I opt to suffer it.
We haven't got any extra (if we get there)25,000 is the allocation each club gets for an FA Cup final.
Last year "Manchester City received an initial allocation of 25,000 tickets, later increased to 31,779, while Wigan requested 21,000 tickets, later increased to a 25,000 allocation"
Arsenal sold the original allocation of 42,000 tickets.Apparently we were then given an extra 6,500 tickets which were sold.Yestertday Arsenal started selling a further extra allocation which I would expect to sell out. There will be a possible 50,000+ Arsenal fans at the game on Saturday.
To be fair, people who can afford Arsenal's prices can afford the tube fare across north London. It's slightly more expensive from up here.
Arsenal' prices are an urban myth.Whilst it is true to say that you can pay £126 for a ticket for game, there are only 5 of these games a season and there are only a fewbhundred of these seats. People choose to ignore there are far more tickets available at £25.50.Hull City fans would only have paid £25,50 to attend your game at the Emirates. On a game by game basis the cheapest season ticket at the Emirates is cheaper than the cheapest season ticket at Anfield.
A friend of mine who is an Arsenal season ticket holder offered me his seats when we played you. £60 each. He's offered them for other games which have been more, e.g. your FA Cup against Liverpool, £87.50 each. This is face value.
OK, I'll accept that. But most of the fans of the other three semi-finalists will have significant travel costs on top at the very least, with many having hotel charges as well. It's not quite as cheap as having lunch at home, getting across London for the match, then home in time for tea. Not trying to start an argument, but Wigan, Hull and Sheffield are not generally known for being wealthy, and the extra costs can make a difference to many. Not too surprising if some gamble on keeping their cash for the bigger event that is the Final.
I'm afraid to tell you but your mate was scamming you. There were no £87.50 tickets for the Liverpool game and there were certainly no £60 tickets against you You can buy tickets for £87.50 for Cat A games but these would have cost £51 for the Liverpool cup game and £35.50 for the game against you
I have a 500 mile round trip for every home game so I fully understand your argument about travel costs
Considering, at a guess, 98% of Hull hasnt got BT Sport I reckon most will go to the pub and spend money there.
