I hate it. I know I use backing tracks but I play all of my guitar parts and Alan plays all of his in our duo!! Dies my head in this computerised ****e!!

I don't think anyone criticises/objects to a couple of lads utilising backing tracks to make up for a lack of numbers.

However, what really gets my goat is when well known bands/singers are unable to perform without resorting to electronic enhancement/correction!

Coming back to the original point, I can remember seeing a couple of Thai lads who were pretending to sing and play to two Clapton tracks (Laya & You look wonderful tonight).

Given just how recognisable those tracks are, coupled with the facts that 1) they couldn't speak a word of English and 2) They were supposed to be playing (not miming) it has to go down as the worst I've seen.

Mind you, the only time I've felt cheated in a West End theatre was when the entire cast of Ipi Tombi mimed every single song - I thought that was disgraceful!
