This won't work Football has too many rules, the games which have sin bins have less, especially when it comes to contact between players. Football is a whiny game, players will cry, storm the refs and whinge about decisions, this will prolong games as it's time wasting. In Ice Hockey, if you get sent off, you just go off. Totally agree. It will be a complete mess. Just another level of ambiguity over interpretation of the law by officials, which will no doubt lead to both players and managers complaining. Football just lacks the respect & discipline of many other sports, where what the ref says goes - even if you don't 100% agree. They explain their interpretation of the rules relating to the incident, make their decision clear and then players & managers accept it. They get on with it. Football is just full of whining and cheating.
No, seeing sense would be to never even bring such a dreadful idea to light in the first place! Still waiting for them to see "sense" on the notion that wealthy owners can do what they want as long as the club is not liable. 15 words is all it takes and football would benefit from a huge new wave of investment. 6 clubs would wet the bed, though, so we can't have that.
