It is being reported in the Daily Mail (so it must be true) that FIFA are going to start trialling a blue card which is half way between a yellow and red. The recipient will sit in a sin bin for 10 minutes (like Rugby Union). Two blues or a yellow and blue will equal a red. It will be a few years before we will see it in he top leagues but may be introduced gradually through lower leagues and even in competitions like the FA Cup.

It’s not ****ing rugby. If it was we’d wear **** brown shoes to the match and the players would drink ale out of each other’s arse cracks afterwards. If the referees don’t want a bit back then ref the game better as they’re paid to do.

This doesn’t apply to amateurs and especially kids’ football. The fat Lonsdale dads and their **** offspring screaming at a teenager should be tasered to death.

I like the idea. I find it incredibly frustrating to look forward to watching a football match, and then finding one side goes down to 10 men in the first 5 minutes. This is better for spectators imo

10 more minutes of time wasting ****housery

Another thing the refs have backed away from after making a big song and dance over it in August, with the odd exception of last week where we had ten minutes in a game that never justified it. Just add the time. Book time wasting in the 33rd minute as harshly as you would the 93rd. It doesn’t eradicate the problem but it reduces it.

Take a leaf out of rugby where any disrespect towards the ref if met with zero tolerance. Plus use the technology to punish players after games so they know being sneaky on the pitch won't mean they've got away with it. Blue card seems a strange idea. Refs will still be critiqued and players won't know where they stand.

FIFA wishes to clarify that reports of the so-called 'blue card' at elite levels of football are incorrect and premature. Any such trials, if implemented, should be limited to testing in a responsible manner at lower levels, a position that FIFA intends to reiterate when this agenda item is discussed at the IFAB AGM on 2 March.

In tomorrow's Mail:
Blue cards are being introduced because Liverpool, Arse and Manure have complained that the red card is negative towards them; whereas, Citeh and QPR have no such negative card. White cards are also being considered because Spuds and Massive are getting away with the negetivity. If the yellows were white instead, the problem would be solved, but Red, White and Blue could be percieved as being rascist?
