Appreciated <laugh>. And yes you're absolutely right, Labour were in that game just as the Tories are now. They both take part in the necessary evil and I don't blame either of them for doing it, if it's what they have to do. Don't hate the player, hate the game as they say.

It's absolutely up to you what you read, absolutely true. I always support the right to a free press. But just like free speech, you may say what you want, but it is open to be ridiculed and criticised if it is incorrect or unfair. And unfortunately the tabloids have given us more than enough proof of what kind of publication they are.

If the papers were penalised for publishing provable lies then things would be far better in my opinion. That's what I take issue with. It's why our televised media is far more balanced than our print media, they're actually held a little bit accountable for their actions, even if they are far, far from perfect.

Yesterday fans started showing their displeasure. Didn’t think I would say this one well done Millwall. Bring back kick it out.
 
I really don't object to the players expressing their views by taking the knee but if the powers that be asked me as a fan to do it I would tell them to get stuffed, I live my life, I hope in the correct fashion everyday, not just 30 seconds at the start of a football match.

Racism, kick it out.

Totally with you on this it has got to the point where it has been totally saturated and now is pointless. Rubbed in your faces it becomes meaningless. The original BLM has been hi jacked by "wings" and political or financial gain. I have in the back of my mind that racism only applies to a greater race taking advantage of a lesser one [ or something to that effect]
Just how many of those 22 players actually believe in what they are doing? Even those that are black or of other ethnic back ground or mixed race? and do the staff and subs etc also comply? not actually noticed it, as not interested, except when a minutes silence for a departed.
The response from Bristol city council re having it on their letter [ head] was they wish to support minority races... so why not Gurkas / aborigines etc.. we all know Marvin gets rid of those that do not fall in line or agree [ posted by media a year or so ago! ] latest is he does not want North Somerset as part of the metropolis before the elections for mayor.... they are likely to vote against him.. so again we could have a mayor by default!

Racism kick it out is by far the stronger message … BLM has the opposite effect IMO
 
The Den was able to host 2,000 home fans for the first time this season after the second national lockdown was lifted.
The return of spectators was overshadowed by the pre-match incident.
bbc reporting … was the incident kneeling or objecting to it … amongst all else are we now having our right/ our freedom to protest taken away?

Because of what it represents in YOUR opinion.
But if you get all giddy about it, then IMO that’s your issue. Me I just let it brush past me. I agree with the statement but not the organisation of it. But if players want to carry on doing it then that is their choice. In F1 some do it some don’t kneel. So I would think footballers have the same option.

You asked why people object. Because of what it represents to lots of people in their opinions. Kick it out doesn’t have these issues and so fans don’t object at all.

Kick it out .. It’s part of grass roots football and reasonably high profile. They offer educational services, abuse reporting services across football and your post highlights that a highly worthy organisation could benefit from the elevation that BLM receives.

The thread is topical. The exposure football bodies give to the topic make it so. Football bodies clearly want the act of taking a knee to be noteworthy. Millwall supporters reacted to something in your words that is “ in your face”. People obviously will pass judgement.

Players were asked to take the knee, it is judged as a political act (see the Ministry of defence/armed services), this political act has been going on for six months how long should it continue or should it have now ceased?
 
Not everyone is involved with grass roots football. So to us then it is just a banner. We know you are as you like to drop it into everything you talk about and fairplay to you.
However just because some Millwall fans objected to it is to be seen. We’ve all been to matches when listening to minutes silence has been noisy objections and that riles some other fans who boo the boo’s.
Anyway I’m bored of saying it don’t bother me, so you and your mate can carry on chatting to yourselves why it upsets you both.

Thank you. That it does not bother you again with respect is irrelevant, Footballing bodies have decided to tackle racism with an approach that clearly does bother people. There was a long standing alternative that could create progress without the obvious baggage.

I would agree, kick it out has more of a wider appeal. the majority of people are anti racism. A small minority are not, so they will be anti KICK IT OUT or blm, but unfortunately these numbers are swelled by the rise in resentment of promoting one singular "race" [ in fact to be accurate is more than one, about 30 or more on Africa continent alone] . It is not really based on race is it? just colour of skin! Puts them 3rd or 4th in the order of ….? who is most plentiful? Chinese /Japanese [ deemed as yellow ] or white based from EUROPEANS?
British lives matter, Belgium lives matter, … after all we are less than all the black lives?

It was not just banners.. it was educating people about how wrong it was in this modern age .. some schools and sports complexes, pre covid had people give talks … and that is FACT.
should a venue have a banner or 2 saying kick it out displayed prior to event, during a break in it or after TOP DOLLAR it displays a message aimed at the root cause [ causes] ...racism .. multi cultural .. not singularly politically for personal gain....
