Believe I read that France and Spain voted for Blatter, I think that I am right in saying that if we withdraw from FIFA then any country that doesn't join us those countries players would automatically be banned from playing in this country. The premiership clubs would definitely not be in favour of that as they would lose a fortune in transfer money they have paid out
Just heard on the news Blatter is resigning will stay until new leader elected, elections to be held soon
Now saying elections between December and March next year, hopefully by then the Swiss/ USA investigation will be far enough forward to know if the people standing are likely to be innocent of any charges brought
I hope he isnt involved in selecting a new president. We dont want 1 of his mates filling his shoes who wont change a thing. We need something strong enough to take the WC away from Russia and Qatar, who both wont take it lightly. So a strong leader needed at Fifa.
News just now said that FBI are now investigating Blatter. The news thinks he has walked away before the FBI come for him! They think its weird that he didnt walk away when Fifa members were arrested and calls for him to resign. He went on with the re-election and gave a victory speech. So why now has he walked away? Funny its on the same day that the FBI announce at a press conference that they are now officially investigating Blatter after going all the evidence they have. He must be a little bit worried!
If FIFA does what it's supposed to do, without the rampant corruption, then great. I think the rest of the world are worried that Europe has the wealth and the best players, so the new president will probably come from somewhere else.
From what was reported on the news it will take up December and possibly to March to be able to get all the associations together. Hopefully by then they will have sorted out his cronies and we can have a fair election preferably without the name Platini involved. While Michel Platini was asking Blatter to resign his French association were voting for him
If worse case is March then Russia may still get the go ahead as the new leader may think not enough time to do a re-vote.
Apparently France 1998 WC is being investigated. If true, that could mean Platini could be involved too?
