I would guess the FBI have put pressure on major sponsors such as Coca Cola and McDonald's who in turn put big money into FIFA, perhaps one of them gave an ultimatum which finally forced him to step down. Whatever it was, there needs to be a complete overhaul of how it is run and organised from top to bottom otherwise it'll be more of the same...
Great news about Blatter, but what made me uncomfortable was the way that within twenty minutes of Blatter being off stage we had Greg Dyke spouting out how pleased he was, celebrating, could see it coming etc. etc. - So unprofessional Firstly this guy is chairman of a committee, speaks on behalf of the committee, yes he has his own thoughts but surely he needn't have made any comment or at least toned back his language as I'm sure he wouldn't have had contact with any other committee members. Secondly, the majority of the FIFA delegates around the world wanted Blatter, how will they perceive the English FA when you have this prat acting like a prima donna, won't do our chances of holding a world cup anytime soon any good what so ever. Appreciate how we all feel about the FA on this forum, but even so he doesn't have to show it to the world!!
So is going to look out for the bst interest of football going for... sorry can't finish that, So long, farewell auf wiedersehen, adieu, adieu, adieu, to you. Even if he has done nothing wrong himself, which nobody believes, he has overseen this criminal joke of an organisation whilst all this criminal activity was going on, I'm glad to see him gone I honestly thouht he would try and last longer, however I notice he will still be in charge for monhs to come :/

Ah but it is only the elite 1% of the population that ever gets the chance to and in the process screws the remaining 99%. It may be legal but it sure as hell ain't ethical, my friend. And dont forget that the reason it is legal is that the accountants that write the tax laws for Government include complex loopholes specifically to be able to then sell this information on to their wealthy clients - so like I said .............CORRUPTION!
I also dont believe that 99% of people would think like that........................that level of greed and selfishness is a trait of the elite, not of the masses.
I see john Delaney is in the frame now. "The money was just resting in my account". Course it was john!
Don't have faith in a criminal investigation in Switzerland, home of the secret offshore bank account. Extradite the cnut to the US. The Dept of Justice, FBI and IRS don't pussyfoot around
What exactly is a disloyal payment? Did Platini call him a F***face or something and Blatter said very good old chap, here's £1.3m for being disloyal? You really couldn't make it up.......
Get rid of the lot of them. As Billy Bragg would say: 1) Who elected these people? 2) No power without accountability.
The whole stinking 'House of Cards' is tumbling down. Warner has obviously fingered Blatter and, by association, Platini has been found out and not before time. Platini was the biggest cheerleader for Qatar. Strangely, considering both he and his son are or were employed by the Qataris on lucrative contracts before the vote, I always wondered how Platini had seemingly got away with it, not any more...
