I'm sure there's a RICO case somewhere in Washington, with Blatter as head of the FIFA crime family. In fact, I read as much, will see if i can dig out the link.
The US are using RICO against FIFA defendants over there. If it can nail John Gotti and his henchmen, it will do for FIFA. Chuck Blazer has already been singing like a canary at the prospect of such draconian sanctions. Here's a quotation from an article in June on the US action: "The indictment charges fourteen defendants: nine current and former FIFA officials, four sports marketing executives, and one man who acted as an intermediary. In addition to the fourteen defendants, the indictment names twenty-five unindicted co-conspirators and describes no fewer than twelve different corruption schemes taking place around the world over the past two decades. FIFA officials are alleged to have accepted more than $150 million in bribes in exchange for being influenced in awarding lucrative marketing and television contracts, rigging FIFA elections, and awarding the right to host soccer’s premier event, the World Cup. Although it’s lengthy, the bulk of the charges in the indictment fall into only three categories: The Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) Money laundering and money laundering conspiracy Wire fraud and wire fraud conspiracy"
