What they are saying on the BBC A tactical masterclass from Bruce' Sheffield United 0-2 Newcastle please log in to view this image Leon Osman Former Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live Steve Bruce came in under severe pressure and he's outperforming everyone's expectation. It was a tactical masterclass, it's normally how his team set-up but it really nullified all of Sheffield United's attacks.
Last season you would have been able to moan about our goal being disallowed for a clearly wrong offside decision. Having read your comments on the match I can see why you might not like VAR but this is exactly how it should work.
I've been screaming for something like VAR for years far too many decisions went against us in the past which were wrong yes we had a few that went for us but not a fraction of the ones that went againt
Do you not feel a little dirty by that goal. Jonjo did right. Ok. But their whole team stopped. Rightly or wrong. Jonjo had a a free shot on goal.
Glorious, love VAR best thing to ever happen to the game! Smart play from Jonjo to carry on and that's 3 in 5 now for him! Carroll put in a big shift tonight as well so fair play to him, deserved his assist. ASM with a well taken goal as well. Not sure how we kept a clean sheet this evening but the lads defender so well which is something you can't usually say about Newcastle. You'd have named Lejuene, Schar and Lacselles as the starting 3 CB's at the beginning of the season but Fede, Clark and Dummy are making it impossible to drop them at present. For all the quality defenders we have had in the past we look as good as I've ever seen our defence. Dubravka tonight as well was my Motm some fantastic saves but the whole back 10 did their jobs perfectly tonight. Steve Bruce - is it time to give him a song yet? Considering how badly myself and everyone else thought it would be I am pleased to eat some humble pie and bend a knee to the fat geordie waiter. If only he had some glasses to tuck in his top pocket! Long Live Sir Bruce!
Not at all. If the ref had whistled then of course VAR wouldnt have been consulted and the goal couldn’t stand. The linesman made a mistake but he is just an assistant to ref. His mistake is not a reason to stop the game. VAR was used absolutely correctly in this case and it was a very good piece of refereeing. The Sheff Utd players were a joke. Should be a wake up call to all players to play to the whistle.
I have to say I'm very impressed with Amazon football coverage. All in glorious 4k for no extra money over and above my monthly sub which is a fraction of the alternatives....plus it gets me Movies and TV shows as well as free delivery on ****. Take note you ****ing slags over at sky. Long live amazon. I'll take all of that over and above being able to record 25 different programmes simultaneously which I will never get round to watching!!
