Let me remind you what was actually said. Is it the word based you need help with.. perhaps if I put it in capitals? All the nonsense about MADE SOLELY was invented only by you sir after I educated you on the facts. You didn't like what I said , thought it was wrong or maybe misunderstood which is fine, but that isn't my fault. I'm now board of this
This I can't understand. This is what I mean with Howe - he perseveres with Almiron expecting that 1-2 that worked a few times to be the answer to all our woes, seeming oblivious to the fact Almiron has been ineffective for 80% of his time here. It's about evolving. Barnes cost a lot, isn't playing, because we have a preferred LW in Gordon. Yet also have Joelinton, Willock and Isak who have all been more effective than Gordon, let alone Barnes. Meanwhile on the right, Almiron and Murphy. Same story at LB. Same again RB. Tonali looks lost, like Howe doesn't understand him, so reverts to Longstaff who is a safe 5/10 hard working plodder. I get why people don't want to assess this early on but I'm looking at Howe's career, his preference for safety first, his inability to change, etc., and how it got him sacked. I'm looking at a really flawed transfer policy - I understand buying for tomorrow, but only when TODAY is good enough. Like I said, we were doing City transfers when the first team isn't better than Brighton, Spurs, Villa, etc.
If Newcastle were to fail to beat Sheff United it'll be interesting to see if the people lambasting you for your assessments will have the good grace to concede you have some valid arguments.
Hey, I could just as easily be proven wrong; I try and form opinions around what I can see right now, and patterns based on history. It's been suggested we've had a slump before and just persevered our way out - this could also turn out to be true. But to me it just doesn't quite feel right and Howe has previous of never changing; worked for a while at Bournemouth, until it didn't. Has worked for a while here, and it will either work again or it won't. @Welshie I disagree completely on Isak. He is a "striker" rather than a "centre forward". Him being so isolated in the formation, coupled with the way teams will now play against him (like they have worked out how to isolate Bruno and destroy his game) , means he's on a hiding to nothing. The real issue with this is, again, the lack of awareness or change from Howe could see the form of certain special players drop off. Isak is not here to play as a lone target man. He's supposed to have support, which is just never happening.
This is exactly what I'm saying mate people are avoiding accepting your views based on the here and now and are instead pointing at last season or 10 years in the future. I think you're correct on performance but I do think it's too soon to rate the transfer window. I do wonder which signings Howe insisted on because I believe managers manipulate circumstances accordingly.
It's bored. We chat **** on the board. Maybe I misunderstood the exact intent of your original statement, but I certainly don't think it was a post designed to highlight that emotion is a key element of all decision making, as that would be out of context. I was (and still am) quite certain that you were insinuating that many of us are unable to form a decent argument for or against something without our decisions or actions being railroaded by emotion. I'm not sure I've found this to be quite as tedious as everyone else, but it must be close. Looking forward to my next instalment of Education by Munse... Episode 2 - Condescending lessons on things I already know, continued.
Thanks for pointing out my playschool spelling mistake my bad it's easy to just acknowledge errors. You almost managed to acknowledge your error but unfortunately you've instead claimed I didn't mean what I said and meant what you interpreted incorrectly. If you already know something it's probably unwise to say it's a load of ****e. If you can avoid doing that it might save you from being educated about it.
When everyone is fit (realise this doesn’t often happen but let’s just say it did) then Howe has some real selection headaches. The fact that we bought a rb and lb for 65m and not started or even played either is a bit strange. I would even give Trippier a chance at RW with Livermento behind him.
Yes so we've dropped 2 of them for players that don't score goals basically and Barnes who's got a good record can't get in either.
think I'd do it the other way round. Tripps to stay at RB as his experience and organisation of the back line is key. Livramento can use his pace (assuming it's still good post injury) to roam up and down the wing
If they were both to play, that would certainly be the way to do it in my opinion. Trippier is too good at RB to move up and Liv is a pretty confident ball carrier.
