Blimey how often does it happen that you are so totally on top of a game and then end up losing 1-0. Still not over yet
Pool have been very dogged in their defending. Always bodies in the way. Ekstrand gets a yellow for a trip.
We should have been out of sight in the first half, but it was just one of those days. FF shoots, a foot wide.
Am I alone in feeling that losing 1-0 after dominating the first half, missing all those chances and falling to an Ince Jnr goal is somehow worse than playing badly and being deservedly beaten by the better team?
Not sure that it is worse, but somehow I felt it coming. I don't quite understand how we can be so good one half and poor in the other.
Dissappointing. I suppose it's inevitable that we won't be able to maintain a fast paced passing game for 90 minutes but unfortunately our 'down periods' seem to be rather more dangerous to us than we would like. Plenty to think about over the international break but not a disaster.
Bloody "eck, can it get worse? We lose after dominating the first half, the filth win and now Palace are winning We must be due the return of "him" to gloat...
Just seen the goal. Ince is a decent player but we let him go past our defence easily. Need to ensure we get 6 points from the next 2 home games.
Well that was eventful. The first half was glorious to behold and their goal led a charmed life. It was quite incredible that we did not score from one of the 13 shots we had. The second was the polar opposite, we just did not keep the tempo where we should have and Blackpool were able to come on to us and close us down far too easily. Ince was always going to come ln and score the winner, it was written in the stars. But we cant say we were particularly poor, we destroyed them first half and had we scored we would have romped to a victory, but we are not mentally tough yet. We lack the psychological edge to win those games. The crowd were hit and miss. Unfortunately we had a group of morons whose brain cell count is more similar to their shoe size who insisted on swearing bloody murder and insulting all and sundry, including one who told me to "**** off" when I attempted to boost the crowd with a chant. But first half wasnt bad, but the last two home games were probably better, snd thats something I never thought I would say.
It will be interesting to see how many of our goal attempts they show on the FLS tonight. From your comments it seems we are playing well generally.
Great effort by the Watford fans first half, understand it being a bit muted in the 2nd. On the game itself it seems like our over-reliance on Deeney may cost us, no one is stepping up to get the goals if he's having an off day or man-marked. Watched the goal again this morning. I know Ince is a very good player but honestly, he cut through our defence way too easily. I would say we've played teams at/near the top so far so the games to come will be easier but, if anything like last season, the opposite is true. Really hate these stupid international breaks anyway but even more so after a loss :-( A narrow lose to the table-topping team away from home to a great goal after pulverising their goal and missing a penalty needs to be put into context but a defensive coach is needed off the pitch and on it someone to assist/swap with Deeney as and when needed. If I sound negative that's not the intention, just that two points from the last nine can be explained too easily; defensively we've not moved forward from last season regardless of the change in personnel.
I just looked at the table and noticed that Watford are below Bournemouth, seems weird after the thrashing you gave them
It is a crazy league where anything can happen. While I was listening in Saturday the PL arrived at half time and not a single goal had been scored. Not too much fun for the fans, but the PL is the best in the world if you want to make money.
