I know. 'really' is a handy word as opposed to "we didn't play any matches". The point is that: First win since April is a fact and sounds bad. Only lost 3 matches in the last 5 months is also a fact and sounds good. I will now be quiet
Definitely, don’t be quiet - you made a valid point, as always We needed a win today - hopefully, that corner is turned for the good
Before todays games, we have the best away record in the Championship and the worst home record in the Championship
When I first saw this in the highlights thought pen, only when slowed down and close up did I realise no contact.
Yes I was being tongue-in-cheek to some extent, you can't expect them to be perfect when the cheating is that good, even if he was a competent ref to start with. Now if only there was a way to review the footage in real time during the game to get the right result Of course that's not possible as football is governed by idiots. And as for the cheating... it's be shown retrospectively and without any doubt that he was cheating, so that should be a 3 game ban, minimum.
The ‘only’ problem with a retrospective ban is that the team who suffered from the simulation/cheating - in this case, the Swans - get no benefit. The opponents - who the offender’s team plays during the 3 match ban - benefit. Not a reason for not doing it - but no direct benefit for us. Why can’t they use VAR in the Championship and ‘man’ it using retired refs if need be?
You also get the knock on effect of less cheating overall once it sinks in to the "sportsmen" that they'll get a ban if they do it. Exactly. No excuse whatsoever.
