    Ok, i just don't get...
    1. You state that the team will be worse next year
    2. You say that new owners never work well
    3. You say that players can't handle the pressure of away fans, there's more of them at home??

Is it worth us even fielding a squad next season? Are you ever positive about anything?

Ok, this needs clarification so that we can try to understand your thought process because you're confusing the crap out of me.

Away games are powder kegs. Is it the home fans or the away fans which create this atmosphere which makes refs give decisions against us?

Home fans. We are everyone’s cup final which influences the referee. That leveller was gone this season.

That’s what I’m saying. Should have been easier for us this year, everything in our favour yet we’ve still blown it.

Players are weak. Most of them away in the summer. They know it. Rank 7 days.

I've got another theory to throw into the mix to try to understand what's happened.

The players have been performing beyond their abilities during the long unbeaten run. A few of them have dropped off, just at the wrong time.

The team play spirals down from there and fractures, as the better performing players realise this and get frustrated / downhearted.

Charlton - bit unlucky early on then poor
Wigan - alright early on then poor
    Blackpool - attacking-wise, poor

totally agree, journeyman squad, no loyalty and no affection for Sunderland. best thing we can do is offer them a massive incentive bonus to win the playoffs, our only chance now.

Or they are just league 1 quality players where luck and momentum has deserted them. Last 3 games we'd been playing like that but winning.

We won’t get in them imo, I can’t see us winning another game this season. Had enough of this absolute **** show.

We're not a million miles away from a top two team/squad imo. Lost the least amount of games and only Hull who have conceded less goals, and that's with us having midfielders playing at the back a fair bit of the time, so defensively we've been okay. I'd say the reason why we aren't top two is we've scored 11 goals less than Hull and Posh and that's going to see us fall a bit short imo.

Just seen this tweet and, I have to say, I am in total agreement. For all those advocating, or even suggesting that fans turning on the manager is a possibility, can you not see how short-sighted this is? We have the ownership with the best prospects we could have hoped for and you're not willing to give their first appointment time. This sends the message that our fans are fickle, impatient and ungrateful.

This. I have said for a while now that us being in this leauge suits one or two of the players. Never get a club like this again. It isn't their fault, but this has been a once in a lifetime for most of our first team. It's like knowing you're going to be evicted from your house next week, but in the mean time, can you get it painted and decorated before you go.

I'd have 2 any day of the week. This club not having any decent backroom infrastructure played a masive part in our post Sam collapse imo and I hated seeing that happen. Glad we have an owner that sees the importance in building that up and not only has the cash to invest, but will do so. I have to admit I'm happier about the club being financially secure with a new owner than I am about anything on the pitch this season, that's all a bonus to me. And I'll give LJ his dues, he's got a squad that under Parky looked ****ing awful at times to looking like it was good enough for automatic promotion. Might have fallen short of getting that, but should still have the lottery of the play offs to look forward to.

Just watch that 8mins highlights and it was mostly us. On another day two of those would have gone in. Seems we're just not cashing in on those opportunities and lady luck isn't shining down on us at the moment.

Still think we'll beat Hull on Tuesday!!!!!
