McLean was playing as both a CM and a DM, which stretched him. Gibbs took over the DM role when he came on after 76 minutes and made some good interventions. I still don't think we're going to play at our best until we have a DM for the whole game. Here's the WhoScored ratings: What a find Núñez is turning out to be and he lit up the pitch today and deserved his MotM rating.
Agree with this. But, if we keep scraping these wins while not firing on all cylinders, when we do hit form, there's going to be a proper decoration job!
It's the awkward position of knowing we are player for player, the Man City of the Championship. A few of us me included are guilty of thinking of competing if we go up and progressing as a club. The individual skill of Pukki at this level is almost cheating , add to that pretty much all our players are Internationals against let's be honest nobody's.
Nunez certainly not lacking confidence, he slams a few shots in that will no doubt eventually start going in
The best was his free-kick that cleared the wall then hit the bar. Much of any improvement we make may well be down to his continued improvement and that of Sara as well.
I agree with this re any possible improvement (along with a CDM!). Nunez is still getting used to the pace of the game here. He has been caught in possession several times, dwindling on the ball too long near our box. It cost us a goal at home vs Bristol and very nearly again, today. Going forward he is great, but he needs to think faster when in our own final third.
We take a lot of shots, a high percentage being on target; we score goals, and we create good chances. But we're less good when it comes to shot accuracy and shot conversion rate. My guess is that that's down to too many long shots from just inside or from outside the box. We are good enough to work better openings in many cases. These stats (from Soccerment) don't include today's game; #x represents league ranking: Goals scored, 16, #4= xG, 16.631, #1 Total Shots, 148, #2 Shots/90min, 14.8, #2 SOT (incl.goals), 53, #2 Shot accuracy (%), 35.811, #7 Conversion rate (%), 10.811, #8
