How does he avoid criticism ? He gets plenty of it despite been a young player finding his feet at this level
That's the first time Fleming has been on a bench all season and he's only just back after injury. I wouldn't have fancied letting him go out and get slaughtered instead. KLP and Longman are both pretty crap defensively, but they tried hard. They're not going to magically improve today. You're better off fighting fire with fire and going for it as we did. We had more than enough chances to win the game today, that's the real issue. We fluffed a number of quality chances
Ermmm they could and should have had at least a couple more .. twice in 2 mins their left winger had 2 glorious chances first half, then Bowler could and should have e doubled their lead second half. Yes we played okay but let's not try to make out we were world beaters today cos we weren't. Too many below par performances, probably a fall out of the covid infection that swept through the squad. We could have got a draw or even a win with more composed finishing, but by the same token we could have lost 3 or 4 nowt. Just hope the next time we turn out they are more recovered.
We were pretty poor in all departments today but we know we're not actually that bad. Just a bad day at the office, every team has them, just need to focus on the next game.
2 young centre backs finding their way, hence the need for an older head at the back to organise them. Having said that McClauglin has been the pick of them since this system was employed.
This. Admittedly, options are limited, but there's plenty McCann could do to change it around when it needed changing around. Taking Smallwood off (whom I'm not particularly a fan of) shouldn't have been one of them, unless of course he had a knock or something. The mini-revival was nice while it lasted. Critchley had it worked out and once again McCann appeared clueless. Bar the last couple of minutes (if you ignore the awful finishing) I thought we were poor.
Bowler is 2 years older and playing consistently rather than coming on as a sub for Bowen? He had moments when with us but his decision making was poor.
He's learning his craft the hard way, the guy needs taking out the firing line and also would hugely benefit from a wise old head alongside him. Huge potential!

I didn't manage to see the game as ifollow wasn't showing it, I got a stream from someone, but it wasn't working all that well, so gave up after a few minutes from the start of the game. It sounds as if I didn't miss much as we didn't play that well and not the best of games by all accounts, probably expected after the COVID issues, but it seems we did enough to have got at least 1 point from the game. Well, let's hope that is the final game for the Allam's in charge, and we can hopefully look forward to a more positive future with this new owner.
The link Dr Stanley posted on page 5 worked well, first time I have ever seen a link go straight to the game with no pop ups or adds. It was in German but you can't have every thing.
I watched the same link, towards the end the commentary was switching between German, English and Arabic!
