I know he's a bit hot/cold but if we can buy King I think he's a good punt. he looks like he will become very good and strong, he's only just turned 20 yet he's big and fast. I know it's a punt but we should while he's cheap. he's going to be worth £4/5 million in 3 years

Thought we were gonna do it then! (2-1 that is) Why is it that so often you see teams to that. Turn from Bradford to Brasil on 80 minutes. Hopefully gives them a kick in the teeth in terms of confidence and knocks their form and must give us a boost. What the **** did the lino give a free-kick against Hobbs for at the end though?! Let's just hope we don't get pushed further out the picture tomorrow.

I know they were all over us but if the lino had done his job we'd have won that game.

Good result, probably lucky to get the point but it's another point on the board, unbeaten in the league in 7 and knocking on the door of the top 6. The shines been taken off the unbeaten run due to the lack of goals, but it sounds like were very good in the last 15 minutes tonight and hopefully we can carry that on into the Leeds game on Tuesday and onwards. Hopefully Matty finding the net might improve his confidence too.

Holloway tried to sit on 1-0 and it's our defence again which kept us in it as they were great! you're never beaten at one down and it showed.. King looked good this time.. don't get why no Simmo but Cullen had a couple of good touches too.. very pleased with that point!

We looked confident and unrushed last 15 mins, calm approach didn't panic & and well done Matty for finishing the job, unbeaten in 7..

That last 15 mins or so showed what we could have done in the first half. In the end we scored a good goal and got away with it. That first half though was all Blackpool and we were never in it then.

Well done Tigers in the end...could have nicked it!

We had twice as many shots on goal in the last 15 minutes as we did in the first 75. Question is whether Blackpool took their foot off the pedal or we started with the wrong XI. Was like chalk and cheese.

According to Holloway he thinks it was our substitutions which pushed them back, putting three up top and the full backs pushing forward meant Blackpool were forced back.

Was this an injury doubt or tactical?

That doesn't make it okay though. People will say they outplayed us on possession but how can we have possession if they can just throw us on the floor all the time and we get booked for it?

Both. Holloway totally ****ed up taking Phillips off for a defender, inviting pressure but on the other hand why the hell do we only attack in the last 10 minutes? We can't get promoted by just defending. For 80 minutes we didn't even try to score and then suddenly when we decide to attack we pen them back and they can't get out of their own box. Why not just attack in the first place?!

I agreed with the decision to start Oli because I thought he'd help with getting men forward more but he was a bit ****. Also I thought Koren and Chester were uncharacteristically crap tonight. Phillips must have brought down about 10 long balls from the sky that should have been dealt with by the CBs and Koren lost it every time he touched it. Also thought Fryatt played like an anti-Fryatt today. He was crap generally but did the business in front of goal when it mattered (though he couldn't really miss). Generally he's the complete opposite.

I know I should be happy with a late point but I can't help but feel that a great chance of promotion is slipping away gradually because we're too timid. We need to be brave and attack, maybe even get a third player in the box every now and then.

Totally disagree... at one specific poinnt rosenior was miles in the blackpool half and they had the ball in our half attacking it 3 on 2 for them and phillips was waving his arms to get the ball, he was totally totally unmarked, I thought this was it, the pass came very very late, almost 10 seconds too late and by then rosenior was back...
My point is, had they scored to make it 2-0 then we'd have lost. Lost while trying to attack, sure... but it's easy to say that now but I doubt it would be consolation. "We didn't make play offs but we went 4 up front for 90 mins every game <wah>"

Let's not forget where and who we were playing. We'd have lost 4-1 if we were "braver" ... place and time. I know what you're saying but which team has played away to blackpool and attack from the first whistle full on?

I'm not sure what your point is here. I'm not asking for 4 up front all game but the way we play is far too defensive. Whoever is partnering McKenna has to get forward and attack now and then. I didn't see Evans or Oli in their box once today and even Koren seemed to be playing further back than normal. That is just plain defensive. This system can work with the players we have but there's no way you'll ever score with an unsupported lone striker against a back four.

I thought that the point was fully deserved in the end, and in a way we were unlucky not to win it. They didn't have any real clear chances, even if they had a great amount of possession in and around the box. They had a lot of efforts on goal, but most of those were pot-shots from about 20-to-25-yards.

Next time you post info like this we'll be do-ing pre-match in one bar, first half in another and second in the third....

that said, it will all be done with the alibi that i live in newcastle and the only way I'll be traveling down (home or away) is with a match ticket and won't quite be arsed with complete utter wasters with more "opinion" than brains or football watching experience.

    Have a nice day.

Agreed but if the match had been stopped for that foul as it should of been we would have had a free kick close to their penalty area and their goal would of been ruled out so sorry not clutching straws the ref was to blame. Holloway has also gone down in my estimations, bleating about the officials, if anything Blackpool where getting the decisions not City.

Oil was terrible, you could see Barmby grimace at one of Oli's f*** ups. He is either unfit or not interested in playing or both. Last 10 mins I thought we were fitter than them, I don't think they took their foot off I think they were knackered. Same team for me next match except Evans for Oli and Brady on the bench.

Good result I suppose, thought the game changed when Cullen and King came on, with them bringing plenty of energy in - still not sure why Simpson was not on the bench. And getting to the foul how that fat idiot didn't see it is way beyond me. Like Peter Beagrie said, any other place on the pitch that would have been seen easily so why not there ?
