Adkins said he didn't have a holiday at all last summer, so probably him and his wife deserve a break before he takes his next job. A lot to think about...a better job may come along, but I bet he's missing the day to day stuff in football.
You generally can when you've just been fired! Especially if you earn hundreds of grand, and just got a big payoff.
I see Alan Pardew is the bookies favourite to be the next manager to leave his job. This would be a a good appointment for NA??
Noooooooooooooooooooooo! He would save them..that's ok, but not if it costs us. Then I couldn't love him. The press would be all over it.
If it happened before now and the 24th February, our trip to St. James' would certainly be interesting.
To be honest, Newcastle wouldn't offer NA the job anyway. He didn't set the PL world on fire initially and then produced good results...but these were based on knowing our players and getting the best out of them. I think they would go for a truly experienced manager at PL or similar level. The best bet for Nigel is a decent Championship team that he could get promoted this season or the next.
Agree Leeds would be a logical destination for NA. Big cub with great potential and if they don't get up this year after what 6 years? They could well be looking for a manager with a proven promotion track record. Can't think of anyone better than NA
It would be a massive culture shock to their fans, I am not sure if they could take it, to understand Nigel you have to be reasonable yourself and have a sense of humour, not their strong suite.
I'd love Nigel to manage Norwich City and the way results have been going for them there might be a vacancy there soon.
Yes they would suit each other well . Nice club , nice supporters , nice manager . Can't see Houghton going though .
