If Warnock fails to take Leeds to the play-offs and promotion this season, I predict Adkins will manage take over and take them back to the promised land.
Me neither. I think he would do well there too. Bit of money there too now it seems. I'm not their biggest fan but to see the likes of Leeds, Forest etc back in the top flight would be nice.
Mentioned Leeds last night as a really logical move for him. Agree, he'd be perfect there...good-sized club. Newcastle would be a bit of deja vu, wouldn't it?
Pardew wont get sacked. Even putting the potential financial implications to one side (re compensation), I do think Ashley was trying to make a statement when deciding that Pardew's new contract should be for eight years. Rightly or wrongly, I can't therefore see Ashley turning his back on that statement just four months later.
Nooooo! Not Newcastle. I think they are in serious trouble and their pain is our gain. Don't want Adkins to go there.
He'll join the list of managers linked everywhere, if I was him I'd probably be on a beach somewhere by now. But I'm nowhere near as hard working as him.
Bet they are regretting that 8 year contract. Funny if Adkins replaced him again, but I hope he doesn't go there. Can you imagine the media (especially Merson) praying for him to relegate us. Couldn't take that.
And I can totally understand why they would be mentioning Nigel's name. But like I say, I can't see Pardew getting sacked. Certainly not for another six weeks or so any way (I guess it's conceiveable that things really are desperate for them with seven or eight games left, then Ashley might suck it up and make the decision to get rid of Pardew).
Blackpool played attacking football under Holloway. I could see that suiting Adkins positivity. wherever Adkins ends up I wish him all the best for the future.
Yeah good spot, but I wonder if Nigel would be the right man to execute a quick turnaround, it would be a completely new job for him. If not Blackpool then I suppose he will wait until the end of the season and see what comes up. Seems like half the Prem is having some kind of crisis at the moment, really hope we don't join them.
After what he achieved at St Marys he'll be much sought after. I can't see him being out of work for long.
