Sorry to cast doubts bcfc, but Marcus Browning was signed by Rovers in 1989, and Marcus Stewart in 1991. John Ward did not become manager until 1993. If you read Holloway's (auto)biography there is no doubt at all that he comes from a Rovers' family
Marcus Browning and his family are very much Rovers and always have been. I know some of his family very well..
ok pirate49 and Banksy - when I was given my 'information' I didn't make note of the exact timings as I didn't predict this conversation - and i didnt check before posting. What i will say (and I have to be careful) is my source is a former teacher who taught both of them, and the school in south Bristol no longer exists as a school. What I will say is that Rovers had an excellent recruitment policy at that time whereas City didn't invest in the local lads.
I think Stewart has admitted that at heart he's a City fan, though he values and appreciates his time at Rovers. Was that Merrywood or Connaught bcfc?
Marcus has a city tatto on his leg,100% true. I also know Ian Holloway would love to manage city one day.
why should he feel sorry for us? he's a gashead isn't he? he obviously looks up to us in a more superior way like all you do
So what your saying then nobhead is you like City if you and Hollowhead have the same feelings towards us
Although Blackpool were one of the top teams back in the 50's and early 60's they fell off the perch some good few years ago. However under the direction of Olly they have started to thrive and it begs the question "why not us" and when you consider their average attendances it becomes even more remarkable. Say what you may, we are where we are because that's exactly what the mangement policy has deserved especially when they fart around making poor choices in leaders at all levels and appear to only be satisfied with the cheap option. I am certainly not a proponent of spending beyond your means like some clubs when they arrive in the promised land and that's why Olly deserves the respect of us all by keeping expenditures in the real world. Blackpool back in the Prem I hope and we shall see where that leaves an ex City player who thought the grass and accent were better somewhere else. Guess who?
