What happened to the F.A.'s rules on owners being fit to run clubs. Foreign owners are a bloody disgrace and the magic roundabout of managers is mind-numbing. It started with Hughton at Newcastle, Allardyce at Blackburn (both ridiculous) and then this season Adkins and McDermott. Blackburn should be docked points and the owners slapped. Kneejerk reaction I know but so bloody fed up with these prats.
Two disgraces have marred this season for me,crazy sackings and crazy handball penalties. Both are a blight on the game.
100% agree Thurnby. If the FA applied that rule to Blackburn, then they would have to apply it to Chelsea, and they are too damn scared of the Russian Gangster to do that!
This is probably one for CT more than anyone else, but someone has developed a mathematical model of when to sack a manager. If you've got a free 20 minutes to read it, it's relatively interesting. I'd be curious if anyone adopts it, rather than relying on instinct. Headline figure from it is that following it should net you an extra 7 points per season, but does increase the (then) average managers from 4.5 per decade per club, to 5.7, which is interesting.
