Frustrating as it is I would wager those who are supposedly trying to offload the club all sleep well tonight.
We don’t have a right back replacement? How many players have we signed, and there’s no actual genuine replacement. **** show recruitment.
One of the things that stood out to me when questioned was when he insisted to Burnsy that the players DO have the quality otherwise they wouldn’t be playing in this division. If Bowen and Grosicki hadn’t been here for the first half of the season we’d probably be mathematically relegated right now. Yes we have injuries but the paper thin squad, after the loss of Bowen and Grosicki, certainly doesn’t possess the strength in depth and quality to stay in the Championship over the course of a full season. I realise that McCann has to find the positives but he’s clearly clutching at straws.
He sounds like he's floundering to me. Hasn't got many options obviously, but bloody hell the idea is we pass to someone in the same coloured shirt. Isn't it?
I don't know if it would have worked, just riffing, but surely a better option would have been to have played Kingsley at LB and Elder at RB? I can't imagine the difference between full back positions is too dissimilar, at least then you'd have two genuine full backs on the pitch?
I have to be honest, even in the days when we have been really ****, I have never been so underwhelmed by a City squad. I’ve always had a favourite player or players. At this moment in time, there is not one single player I can endear myself to. Sad times.
He just sounded like a man who has one or at best two games left as manager. Burnsy's questions were fair and not too harsh - I think he felt sorry for him. Terry tried to stay positive and even half quoted Brucie (Dust worselves down). He mentioned that 7-8 players will be back by Monday (so gawd knows what the team will look like on Friday). I know the injury situation is bad but I get the impression he's lost it. Mind you, every time he avoids picking Batty or taking him off whilst leaving Honeyman on the pitch I think he's lost it.
To be fair it is what I expected until we get some players back & new recruits bed in for the next few games this is going to be the situation. I still feel once we get De Wijs, Burke, Stewart, and hopefully, Toral along with Samuelsen, who I think is a quality player, then we are in for a rough time, but will get enough points towards the end of the season to avoid the drop. With the team Terry had to put out, IMO they did well to hang on for 70 minutes, likewise Saturday whereby they managed a draw. Basically, last night, it was hanging in there hoping to get a point. but once the first goal went in the dam burst and the inevitable happened. Batten down the hatches we are for a rough ride.
Too true. Anyone remember one of McCann's first interviews? Talking about he doesnt like square pegs in round holes, wants 2 players per position all over the pitch. And then only have 1 RB going into a "promotion chasing" season. It's laughable really. Im sick to death of the allams and managers talking for the last 2 seasons about promotion, and then signing players on free's, loans and league 1 standard players. Then a league 1 standard manager. It's laughable really. Allams out!
