It is a topic that has caused much division, with people being accused of ignorance, foul play, bending the rules and arrogance. The same question has gone round and round in my head, and depending on your news source the answer is very different. The question is, of course; 'can QPR make it three wins in a row?' I was very encouraged after watching last night. It wasn't always the one touch, quick passing and fancy football that we all enjoy watching, but we ground out a good result, in a match we could have easily lost. The result leaves us lower mid-table, 16th, and bottom of the five teams on 13 points. Obviously this means a win on Saturday should see us move up the table a couple of places. Blackburn are 2 points and 2 places below us...having scored 18 goals this year, so 8 more than us. It is clear where their main threat comes from, as Adam Armstrong has scored 9 of their goals. They drew 0-0 with Boro on Tuesday night, with Armstrong missing due to a hamstring injury (https://www.transfermarkt.com/blackburn-rovers/sperrenundverletzungen/verein/164). According to that link Armstrong won't be fit for Saturday, which is good for us. You can also see there, they have two left-backs (Bell and Douglas, who have played 9 between them so far this year) out with coronavirus. Hope they get better and it isn't too serious...but also hope this means they will have a crap third choice left back on Saturday, ready for BOS, Albert, Chair and co to breeze past. Enjoy those who will be watching, I'll add team news if it goes on the official, and as always...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
Agree with the above. We've become a bit of a bogey team for Derby but Blackburn....Def take the draw now.
We haven't won at Ewood Park since October 1999. We won 2-0 with Stuart Wardley and Kevin Gallen scoring for us. I saw us win there 3-1 in 1983, but can't remember much about it. I'm sure Clive Allen probably scored and I think Peter Hucker saved a penalty.
Yes, think we have stopped a few of these bad records of late, at Forest for one. No reason not to take 3 points at Blackurn, they will be missing Armstrong who has scored 9 this season, I heard, and have done and played played badly since a win at Coventry. 3 in a row for us. ComeOnYouR's.
My first away ground when Shearer threw himself over in the box circa ‘95. Doubt it’s changed much since then.
Clive's preview...... QPR, two wins in a week of immense effort and great travelling distance, head to injury ravaged Blackburn Rovers at the end of the latest extreme burst of Championship fixtures. Blackburn (3-2-5, LLDLLW, 17th) v QPR (3-4-3, DLDLWW, 16th) Mercantile Credit Trophy >>> Saturday November 7, 2020 >>> Kick Off 15.00 >>> Weather – For the first time since 1994, it’s not raining >>> Ewood Park, Blackburn, Lancs Christ this feels so much easier after a win. And QPR have had a good week too. The win at Derby on Wednesday was important for a multitude of reasons. All the obvious stuff like any win being good, any points being good, any climb away from the relegation zone being good, anything away from home being good. And then some stuff that’s particular to us, to do with our propensity to play quite well but spurn chances and lose, dominate games for short periods but eventually slump to defeat, and a chronic inability to pick up points away from Loftus Road or without crowds. When you look at the photo of the ground it's really quite smart on 3 sides and then the relic from the 70's on the other side.......I'd be happy to have HQ looking like that on all 4 sides..... Oh and nice to see Kiwi observing the no nipple rule......
We have a lot of games coming up thick and fast. Not every player can play every game. ( Although I would under normal circumstances. ) MW will need to utilise the squad as best as possible. I'm not really into this signaling players out for derision. Have you seen the schedule for December? ... please log in to view this image
