Match Preview;
So next we travel to the former Premier League Champions, although that is now a dim and distant memory as they return to the Championship this year after a year in the third tier. After seven points from five games in October, Blackburn now find themselves two places and one point behind us, in 12th place. Their top scorer, Bradley Dack, has an impressive 8 goals so far, 6 in the league.
As for us, after a cracking month, where we picked up more points than any other team in England (13!), we go into this game within touching distance of the playoffs. A win could even take us up to 5th, but lets keep it real, a loss and we could be down to 14th. Still, lets try and keep the good run going and see where it takes us.
From the official;
QPR are looking to win four league games in a row for the first time in almost five years as the R’s head up to Lancashire to face Blackburn Rovers.
The R’s last achieved the feat under Harry Redknapp back in January 2014 when Rangers beat Doncaster, Ipswich, Huddersfield and Bolton.
The poor start to the season means that despite Rangers excellent form they are still only placed 10th in the league table, two places above Blackburn.
Rovers gained promotion to the Championship after finishing runners-up in League One last season. Mowbray’s side have made a solid return to the second tier of English football and know a victory will see them leapfrog QPR in the table.
They have already recorded excellent wins over Brentford, Stoke and Leeds whilst also picking up impressive draws with Aston Villa and most recently West Brom at the Hawthorns.
Blackburn have good experience throughout their side but their key man is undoubtedly Bradley Dack who has already bagged eight goals and five assists this season. The attacking midfielder won League One Player of the Year last season and has so far shown no issues with adapting to playing at a higher level.
Those travelling to Blackburn will probably be aware Ewood Park has not been a happy hunting ground in recent seasons. In 2017 the R’s were defeated 1-0 thanks to a late Sam Gallagher goal in a match where Conor Washington was denied an opener, despite the ball looking to have crossed the line.
You have to go back to 1999 for Rangers last win at Ewood Park with the men from W12 picking up just two points from a possible 12, and twice being knocked out of the FA Cup in the time since.
COME ON YOU R'SSS!!!
