It’s not just one player Scoring either, if one has off game we’ve got others that step up, last year we were too dependent on Weiman, this year there’s Weiman, wells, Semenyo, and Conway, and not forgetting Martin who’s time will come at some point in the season too.
I think the pundit, for once, on the EFL show last night was about right. 'Can't see City getting automatic promotion, they'll do well to make the play offs'. Suspensions and injury to players in a small squad will be the key.
in moderation a good statement but a dont mind is open to not scoring as many ... like opposition gets 1 goal or 2 before you .... like maybe a unforseen penalty/corner/or freekick!
I agree , we will do well to make top 6, I don’t give them credit for saying it though, little ole Bristol City is always going to get that response, hopefully one day we’ll prove them all wrong .
I think if - and a BIG if - we can sort ourselves out at the back and stop conceding silly goals at the end of games - we could be right up there. Even last season we were 5th top scorers in the league but late concessions let us down. This season we are even MORE potent up front - but still suffer from the same problem as last season with late goals. I’m aware that I keep on about it but I really believe that if we fix that we will be the complete unit.
Last season we compounded things by sitting back trying to protect a lead, at the moment we aren’t doing that. As long as we can stay confident and keep going forward on balance I think we’ll be fine. I take your point about late goals , although if you are already ahead be 2 or 3, who cares.
4 of the CITY'S TOP SCORERS are the forwards! Unlike previous when it was just 1 with others contributing 1 / 2 or 3! .....
Great isn’t it, personally really pleased we’ve eventually started playing to Well’s strengths allowing him to shine. Him and Conway compliment each other perfectly. I’ve always believed strikers work better as a pair.
Absolutely agree hence Kalas is vital in that respect. Vyner has improved immensely but is still the weak link majority of play comes down his side in games.
I agree that Vyner has improved but still has to concentrate more. I think the reason more of our opposition attacks come down our right side is more to do with the fact they have done their homework on us. Last season was an area we couldn't get right, and this season the players brought into that RWB position have both come from the lower leagues, so understandable that teams are testing that side more than our left, which is a bit more established at this level with DaSilva, IMO.
Vyner hasn’t really made mistakes this season that he has in the past, Sykes has been strong too, to the point he got his place back as soon as his ban for being sent off was served. To be fair to Vyner he has not been the weak link I expected him to be, credit where it’s due IMO
Given we don’t have a mean defence we’ll need to just out score the opposition which was Kevin Keegans ideology when he was Newcastle manager On the plus side it provided huge entertainment for toon fans and the neutral supporter The downside was he won nothing with that approach
