playing one sided games no good, they need to do it for 90 mins, the sheff U game becoming pointless now if we don't beat Stoke, might as well miss the 1st half as well. hell of a lot of work to do for these, not good enough.
Muscle on a CF is always good, he's a bit of a beanpole at the moment and he's constantly getting knocked off the ball. I think it's mainly that he's playing for the foul and not winning them but there's no downside to a CF getting physically strong.
cheers again RTB... ok a little late but been busy the day, really needed that 3rd goal to kill it off as i feel they would have given up but we let them crawl back into the game, first half we should have been 3 or 4 down and we really need to get out of this habit of starting late. hope riggy is not too bad, his goal certainly gave him the boost he needed, wanted mayenda to bury that ball but seemed caught in two minds. MotM is dan neil, certainly coming out of his 'stagnant phase'. for a change, mad-ley was not too bad.
@monty987 fishing again ....... what a tedious t**t he is, what is his purpose to life ..... does he even have a life
I hear people constantly tell me he’s red and white, but I see nothing on here to persuade me in the years ve been on. As you say, same tedious ****e every non-win! Only ever posts when we are losing. Goes very quiet when things go right! Today isn’t a bad result at all. Away draws win you promotion as long as you win your home games.
He is so desperate to be negative half of what he says is complete bollocks anyway. Why the **** would the Sheff Utd game be pointless with so many matches and so much left to play for? One sided games? I'm sure he means only playing well in one half as one sided would suggest we are easily beating which this team never is! If you can't see anything positive in this team it's times to pack it all on and do something else!
Definitely a game of two halves and both teams had their period when they could have killed the game off. We were excellent 2nd half and Dan Neil is really starting to stamp his authority in midfield. When Mayenda went through and just got ahead of the last man, I dont understand why he didnt go across the defender to either make him foul him (and be sent off) or get across onto his stronger left foot. Wilson did exactly the same vs Norwich. I thought this stuff would be basics for a centre forward? Anyway, staying in touch with the top and the only 3 above us are the ones benefitting from recent parachute payments.
Thought Mepham had a bit of on up and down game yesterday, he was good at times and very poor at times, gave the ball away carelessly, did not pick up some unmarked players but made some great blocks and tackles. All in all I think this was a valuable point on the road and even though it felt like a bit of a punch in the gut Imo we got a point against one of the form teams in the division at the moment and we are still in touch of the top 2 with a lot of football yet to be played. A lot of goals recently seem to be scored against us from a scramble in the box and it seems like teams will just hope to win first contact and then see what transpires. I hope RLB and his team are looking at that aspect which I am sure they are.
I am not quite sure how you can plan to stop that, at the moment it seems everytime there is a scramble in the box it drops to them. Obviously stop them getting there in the first place, easier said than done
Did Mayenda even lift his head or was he head down and just sprinted into the keeper. Didn't even look like he attempted to take a shot, chip the keeper, or go round him. Was very strange. Don't expect to see that atr pro level.
People's thoughts on Patto yday? Thought he could have been better again me. Not getting off his line, helping the defenders out. Kicking poor again. I think the main reason we keep conceding these scrappy goals in and around the 6 yard box is because our keeper is weak and doesn't help the defenders. Wonder if Moore gets a sniff again. Did absolutely fine last time.
Yeah Iam not sure it just seems that all ricochets seem to fall to an opposing player at the minute, but we always look capable of fighting back.
I really enjoyed the second half - there's a good team developing with a high work ethic. Most frustrating thing was that effort at the end - mayenda just ran as fast as he could ood without seemingly to give a second thought as to the finish or even a finish. Was poor and hopefully he learns from it as I accept he is still learning and very young but looks far from a natural finisher to me.
A pretty enjoyable 2nd half. 1st half was a shocker and it's quite worrying as to why we started so slowly. Blackburn could have been out of sight early on playing some lovely stuff. 2nd half was excellent and we should have had the 3rd to kill the game off. Jobe should at least hit the target from wilsons pull back. Poor defending from Mepham for their 2nd trying to jockey the ball out didn't make himself big enough. All in all a very good point but as has been said disappointing to concede so late. Fog on the A66 was a bit of a shocker on the way home. We move on to stoke for a game where we need the 3 points.
A few more draws than I would want knowing how some of them came about but still not a bad first half of the season
Spot on.....I have often wondered if we had to sell a player or two..in an ideal world which one would least effect us. For me Patterson stock seems pretty high with other clubs, but I do think in Moore we have a more than capable keeper and the loss of Patterson would be negligible
Garbage first half and loads better second half. I don’t understand the lack of substitutions though, Mayenda should’ve scored from 22 yards out Moore deserves a chance back in goal. Great away point. Monty987 fuq off.
