Stewart (by a long way) Grosicki . . . . Irvine Second half we looked disorganised and slightly leggy at times. The high pressing game needs a high level of fitness and it will come, but 2-3 games in 7-8 days so early on was showing tonight.
Stewart Grosicki Irvine Stewart was brilliant. MOTM by far. Grosicki is endlessly frustrating but was still our biggest threat to score last night. Still concerned about Eaves. He looks way short of the required standard.
Stewart - at the moment silencing the doubters me included with some solid if not spectacular displays Irvine - showed plenty of energy but as his legs went through the amount of running he'd done became less and less effective Grosicki - in glimpses showed what he is capable of .. but equally frustrating in parts .. however still well above the rest. As for the rest of them Long - comes far too often and misjudged the line of the ball for me although is proving to be a half decent shot stopper McKenzie - looked exactly what he is .. a young kid who's being asked to play a foreign role to him and hopelessly out of his depth. Kingsley - showed exactly what he is ... crap Burke - with a more solid partner there is a player in there but needs an old head next to him to bring him on De Wijs - old square head .. prone yet again to mistakes and not having an awareness of what's happening around him. Batty - huffed and puffed and tried but to little effect last night. Bowen - one of his least effective games .. not sure if the penalty miss effected his game but didnt look on it at all. Eaves - punters have correctly established that he is trying to be the physical presence but from reports theres more to his game then that .. the lad desperately needs a goal because each game its showing he is getting more and more frustrated.
