This game has now been brought forward to the Friday night as live on Sky.

Already planned to take my two kids to this but cannot now make the Friday due to work committments.

I know the TV money may come in handy but for me no thought for the true fans.:mad:
What does everbody else think?
 
How many games is that already this early in the season that have been changed ....

I think it is totally out of order and people who only get the sat afternoon off for the game are being ignored .
 
A pathetic lack of thought to the people who really keep the game going - the fans. If people stopped attending matches do they really think the sport would be attractive to tv, dead quiet grounds, no atmosphere, empty seats everywhere, like a Titanic survivors reunion meeting.
 
its a blatant abuse of we pay the money so we can do what we like 2 football <ok>......why should fans keep missing out because of fixture changes>>>>.like i said before i havnt bought a season ticket for two seasons now because of the changes 2 the fixture list>>the last one i bought i missed eight fking games because of times and dates were changed..............now i aint a rich man who can afford 2 stump up money for games which i cant attend.


when are we the fans gonna get something back from the game apart from empty pockets whilst we watch footballers act like spolit brats and see the lavish spending on crap that weve payed for............football needs 2 change or the drama and abuse of our sport will continue.

Football sold it's soul to the likes of Sky years ago. It now keeps it alive.
Dance with the devil, save yourself some hard earned cash and slump in your favourite armchair and watch it.
 
Rather it get swapped for TV than for a egg chasing clash.

On the bright side theres far better places to be on a Saturday afternoon than Blackburn.
 
It would be a gesture from the club if they established a policy whereby refunds were given without question to people who bought tickets in good faith and the date was later moved. Surely the increased TV money more than offsets the ticket sales they would lose.
 
you cant have it both ways.....sky pay massive money for these TV rights and have every right to do what they are doing, which is move games to maximise their advertising revenues. the people at the FA have allowed this sort of thing to happen.

its a business. and has been since sky moved in.... there are millions of sky sports customers to please, yet only 20,000 paying cardiff fans, guess which group they will choose to favour.....
 
True Swamp but they expect to see relatively full grounds as evidence of interest of the football supporting public. If that falls away and there are rows and rows of empty seats then they could eventually have a rethink and move on to something else, particularly for Football League games.

if you ask me they can stick theyre fking money right up theyre arses>>>>>the money has done nowt but ruin football as we knew it,they play with the top flight all season and manipulate as much of the game as they can just for tv crowds>>>by the way swamp im not sure sky pays for it they just make lots of money out of couch potatoes and put a small percentage back.................................................the game has never needed tv,,,,,its tv that needs football <cheers>

depends what your outlook is aber.

in a nutshell things like games being moved is what you sign up for when you sign the billion pound contracts with sky. dont like it, dont sign. sky need PL football as its crucial to its business plan - thats why they pay so much. and the owners of clubs get loads of money, which promptly goes straight to the players.

we get to see loads of top foreign players, get nice new stadia but have to put up with loads of non 3pm kick offs. the PL wouldnt be the best league in the world if it wasnt for sky.

You'd think this is a simple solution and it may well increase season tickets in the future if fans knew they'd get a refund if a game was moved and they can't make it. Even with a discounted season ticket it would hardly put a dent in the P & L give most revenue these days is generated by the TV rights and other sponsorship.

It's probably covered in the small print somewhere but you'd have thought that buying a ticket for a game on a defined day and stated time is entering into a contract. If the the date and time move that contract is broken.

They must know that people plan on what they are told and may not be able to change those plans at the last minute.

If not illegal, at best immoral.

Good point. If you buy a concert ticket, at the Motorpoint for instance, and the arrangements change then they offer to honour the ticket for the revised arrangements or give a refund. Less any admin/credit card costs you paid upfront of course!!!!
