So tomorrow sees us travel to the Stadium of Light to take on the team rooted to the bottom of the table, but ‘ACN’ and anything can happen. I’m HOPING that our deserved victory against a team nearer the opposite end of the table will give us (and especially SirBenny {even if it was off the keeper’s boot!!}) a much needed confidence boost.
Will it be 'lucky' for us, as we are one of only 6 teams that they have beaten this season?

From today's presser - Tettey, Pinto, Reed being monitored due to workload. Late calls. No Fernandez, Watkins, Stiepermann. Not overly concerned re Watkins, but hope Fernandez will be fit for Saturday.

Given their perilous league position :emoticon-0102-bigsm, shouldn't it be the Stadium of Plight?

Who is this Fernadez of which you speak? Is he any good?
If there is no Tettey, my confidence has already dipped, no Reed too and I think I'd plump for a Sunderland win. They are gash, but we still look too easy to beat when Tettey is out.

    Bah!

Leitner made the bench for Saturday so perhaps he could be in line for a return, alongside Madders or Vrancic. Might not leave us much defensively, but we could go back to 3 at the back?

    Gunn
    Zim Hanley Klose
    Pinto Lewis
    Vrancic Leitner
    Madders
    Oliveira Srbeny

I seem to remember a fixture against them late in the last PL season, when we were ahead on points and a win would have gone a long way to ensuring our survival at their expense. So what happened? We capitulated and lost at home 0 - 3 and proceeded to get relegated. <grr>

Good spot General - it should of course have been Hernandez and I can't even blame predictive text, as I typed it on my laptop. I saw him V Reading and he certainly had promise and just needs to work on his final delivery.
Yes, Tettey had been very influential in the last 2 home games.

Although he was at fault for Villia's goal and became less effective towards the end of the game.

Sunderland can't buy a win at the moment #alongcomenorwich <doh>

So with City effectively having nothing to play for and Sunderland desperately needing the points,
it would be interesting to know where Dave's loyalties lie this evening ;)

Not just the last two home games. the whole season has in my opinion been punctuated by being difficult to beat with Tettey in the side and being soft and having our belly tickled without him. Reed et al are just no substitute for Tettey's defensive reading of the game.

    Bah!

He's just come out of hospital after his op, but I'm pretty sure he'll be rooting for the Canaries.

Read played really well on Saturday and it's hardly his fault he's been played out of position so much. I'd happily lose Tettey next year if it meant we signed Read permanently.

Think you'll find Webber holds all the aces this time around, not Tettey's agent.
Accept what's on offer (bearing in mind age, dodgy knees, etc) or on yer bike pal <ok>

That said on the proviso we don't sell or loan out Ben Godfrey next season.

As the others have said, not on Webbers watch. he'll take our best offer under our new salary structure or leave, he is not a player anyone breaks the bank for, I hope he stays though because if Godfrey/Thompson can't cut it Tettey would be very useful for at least one more year.
We'll only get Read if the fee and wages are right. I have my doubts on both. He definitely hasn't shown enough as a DM TO BE signed, at CM he has to be behind Trybull, Leitner, even Vrancic so should we sign someone who may well want top end of our wage structure who is a good utility but probably not a first XI choice?

    Bah!

But he's half decent cover for RB as well and still young so likely to get better.

So many missed opportunities by both sides in the first half.
