We didn’t get started until an hour into the match and then we didn’t take our chances. Having said that, the ref has got at least one decision wrong.
It's a pisser but we take it and move on, there's a hell of a long way to go and time to put this right if we are good enough, and Tommy Miller a Sunderland fan thought we were the likely winners up to the red card, so we can't change things so lets take the positives and reproduce the good football we played after 30 minutes.
Alright lads. Sunderland fan here. Seems both the red card and the penalty were dubious but we will take it. Been shafted by refs more times then i care to recall in this league so makes a nice change. Thought a point would of been a fair result. You lot stopped playing second half. Not really sure what happened
There was only one side that looked like winning it until the sending off. Afterwards we were under the cosh.
There was a stone wall penalty a few minutes into the second half and a chance from close range narrowly over the bar. Sunderland were lucky to be level when Dozzell was red carded or Town could have parked the bus.
So Burge never made a save then. I said previously the red card was dubious but our local paper has just put up a still of the tackle. Was a clear red
Not sure what that has to do with anything. He did make a save from Bishop second half but we had better chances.
Sounds like we were very unlucky last night. Still in the top 2. We lick our wounds, move on and hope to get stronger as some of our players return from injury.
Having had a look again at the incidents. Dozzell's tackle is a red all day long. He's off his feet and out of control. Silly lunge. Sunderland's penalty is handball under the current stupid interpretation. I hate the rule but hands are up and the fact the ball is going away from goal doesn't change the rule. Ref got this one right as well. Town's penalty appeal - should have been a pen too.
The penalty not given to us, the red card for Dozzell & penalty for them have created a smoke screen but this is another game against a top 1/2 side that we've lost. We only had 6 shots in the whole game, 2 on target. Then we get a typical PL interview in how fantastically we played - 2 shots on target in the whole game is fantastic is it? I know its not all doom & gloom as we sit 2nd but I really don't see a lot of difference between this season & last - really hope I'm wrong but think we'll finish somewhere between 4th & 10th
