I had a tiny dabble on Luna coin after it tanked and caused the crypto crash. I got excited when my £10 stake made me £60 and cashed out, if I'd held on for another couple of days they'd have been worth £1100. After that they tanked again down to the level I bought in at. I've not followed it since to see where they are now.
 
I cashed all my crypto out for a very nice profit just before it all went tits up. It
was nothing more then good luck on my part and I could have just as easily lost it all. My performance on the stock market on the other hand this year..... Ouch. But fortunately I've got time on my side so I've every confidence it'll bounce back

Never forget this song, but of course it was the Stones version. I'd say would be in my top 10 favourites of all time.
Was working at Brown's Amusements in Brid. the summer after it was released and it seemed to be playing all the time every time we were in the cafe adjoining the arcade. Happy days.

I once owned more than 100 Bitcoins. They peaked at $68,789.63 each. Needless to say I sold them too soon. Does that count?

I’ve dabbled. Actually made some money from it. There’s a lot of people who prattle on about how it’s a superior alternative to fiat currency and crypto will be the ‘future’. I think that’s bollocks. It falls victim to the same issue as fiat i.e. the more units created/mined of a particular cryptocurrency, the lower its value becomes. Runs into the exact same problem as central reserves printing more paper money. It also consumes a **** load of energy to create more units. It’s economically and environmentally unsustainable.

Have you heard the original? It was written by Jerry Ragovoy, under another name, with very few words originally. He added words later. On this original the vocals are by Whitney Houston’s mum and Dionne Warwick and her mum.
Did they play albums in Brown’s cafe as it was only released on that LP here? The Stones recorded another version which was released in America only as a single the following year.

Jerry Ragovoy is a name not widely known yet he wrote many classics we grew up with as can be seen if you scroll down on the link to his biography. Janis Joplin was a big admirer of his stuff and she covered quite a few of his compositions.

First time I've listened to that version. Cheers.
Never knew there were album playing juke boxes, but definitely a single ! Can't recall what was on the B side, only that there was another Stones single on the box at the same time - funnily enough I think it might have been "The LastTime". However, time warps the memory in curved space. :emoticon-0100-smile

They didn’t record a single of it until 1965 and it was only released in US, never as a single here.Last time didn’t come out until 1965, it’s B side was Play With Fire. Don’t think there were album playing jukeboxes, a bit complex for those simpler times.<laugh>was wondering if there was a record player in there they played albums and EPs on? Though I can’t imagine Harry Brown supplying anything for free that he could have charged a tanner a listen,:biggrin:

Not sure what you're trying to say. Are you doubting I heard it in Brid ? No idea where the single came from, perhaps one of the Browns grannies sent it from the States? The version I posted was from an album I realize,asuming whoever posted it onto youtube captured it from an akbum. The song was distributed all across Eyrope as a single I suspect. Maybe one of the lasses from the cafe loaded her own copy of a single in the jukebox.
My pals father at the time was a merchant seaman and brought back loads of records from the States.
 
Warren Buffet is somewhat dismissive of it. In a nutshell, if you buy bitcoin the only person interested in buying it from you, is the one who sold you it in the first place.

I've done ok on a penny stock, premier African minerals. Over doubled my money so have taken my initial investment + a little back out and left the rest in as it's long-term potential looks pretty good ( it's all in lithium mining )

Tell us about the losses too.
Crypto, penny stocks, individual stocks, active fund picking - for the vast majority, they are all in effect gambling.
"Time is on my side" is a good valid saying, at least for sensible well diversified passive MAF type fund holders. The markets always bounce back eventually. A loss is only a loss if it's crystalized (sold).
Each to their own though. It's your money .....

My pension pot is down approx 10/11% year on year on investment performance but with being young(ish) my investment choices are higher risk so I'm fine with that over this last year

My investment in stocks that I use for a little bit of fun on the side is down over all approx 45% in the last year ( it's mainly penny stocks, high risk etc but I put very little into it )

As I posted I had a nice win with PREM recently, bought in at 0.22p and it's now sitting at 0.57p

Not losses but lots of stocks that are taking ages to recover, Rolls Royce for example.
My mates really into his small cap mining shares, still pushes ARC Minerals and Tower Recources but they never seem to go up. I bought Arc which feels like a loss to me and Rio Tinto for the high yield dividend which has to be a gain.
