I've never got how Man Utd can be called Manchester United, when Manchester is quite clearly not United as it has another team!

Newcastle United is as it was the merger of both Newcastle clubs, thus 'Uniting' the city's football, but Manchester has two big teams, so obviously isn't United.

 

I think it's an age thing. Older Newcastle fans call us Utd , I know I do when speaking to friends, but for my daughter it's the Toon.

 

I would love to have faith and say no keep him but I think it might be better to sell. I just see his lack of a footballing brain as a barrier to any real progress. I have nothing against him though if he sticks around and he could ok as a 2nd striker.

 

man u have no automatic right to be called united theres loads from dundee to torquay,i noticed it years ago with the media when some dickhead reported leeds 1 united 1,i think the first team to be called united was sheffield so really they are the 1s that should have the priviledge to be called united,as for no 1 calling them united quite a few sing it ,look its nothing personal it just does my napper in

 

Well, it's more right than calling them Rovers.
