Admittedly it's not fair to draw conclusions when you've only watched a few minutes of highlights but... another appalling miss by Washington when we were 1-0 up and he was clean through on the keeper. Didn't even hit the target. This is why we are struggling this season. I really like the bloke's industry and character but let's face it, he's no Championship striker. And we have no one else even as good as him. And good to see that Smithies continues to try his best to not get sold in January. A real howler for their equaliser and along with his sudden induction into the Rob Green school of distribution you can only hope that it's enough to keep the vultures at bay. He loves the club so much that he's manufacturing a dip in form to stay
What yesterday proved is that there is at least one worse team than us in the division. Two more and we will survive. Washington’s effort when clean through was embarrassing. He should be taken out of the team and played in the U23s to see if he can find his goal-scoring touch there.
Badly needed win and you can't have any sympathy for Brum, they've reaped the result of sacking Rowett when challenging for the Play-Offs and trying big names like Zola and Redkrapp. Perhaps we should try Robinson as a striker, couldn't do worse than the current shower...
Was out all day yesterday.....all I can say is "about bloody time".... It was all getting a bit depressing what with the cricket and the R's form or rather lack of it.....just the teams 2nd & 3rd to play in the next week or so.....
Composure ... the lack of is the real reason we are getting the results we deserve As said nought wrong with the team, the manager or the club
How many of us are nursing hangovers induced by Rangers unexpected victory (and in my case badly bruised ribs) .....I know I am Sent from my STF-L09 using Tapatalk
Steve Cotterill: "When I came in we were second from bottom so nothing has changed..." Yeah, I hate to be pedantic Steve...
Not going to get too excited about beating Brum away. It's our first away win which is still bloody ridiculous but im glad we have at least done it.
Just heard Ollie say in an interview that our fans were singing "how **** must you be? We're drawing away." just after the kick-off. Our travelling fans have a wonderful sense of humour!

Thanks Nine's! Robo was close to a hat trick! The highlights look to confirm Clive's view that Sylla's introduction gave us a boost. He still looks our best striker to me. Smith didn't look like he had a great day yesterday, but even so he pulls defenders to him which gives others space as Robo got for his first goal and the one he headed over. Strengthens my opinion that it's well past time for Ollie to start Smith and Sylla together, leave Conor out for Sylla, and otherwise start pretty much yesterday's team. Maybe Samuel for Bidwell at home. We weren't only lumping it forward to Smith yesterday, the performance against a sh*te team gives us a good base for the Christmas programme if Ollie doesn't change the team too much again.
I know we're painfully short of striker options, but I really don't think Smith should be a starting option. He fades badly and is far more effective as an impact sub when we are chasing a game. Assuming there are no youngsters pushing for a place (whatever happened to Grego-Cox?), that just leaves Sylla, Washington and Mackie (I'm ignoring Wheeler as he seems to be a wide player rather than a striker). Of those three, I consider Washington to be the best footballer, but he has disappointed and seems woefully short of confidence, as witnessed by his wasted chance yesterday. Even so, I would still pick him ahead of Mackie, whose only real attribute is chasing and harrying - Washington can do that too. That leaves Sylla (a poor footballer in my opinion, but he does get a goal or two) as a starter by process of elimination. All rather depressing. Hopefully Eze will return in January, but he seems to be more a number 10 than an out-and-out striker. Maybe he could be played in a 4-4-1-1.
Good spot Rodders, I never noticed that. I wonder why? Maybe they were a bit puffed out as it was quite late in the game. Well actually Sylla couldn't be as he was on as a sub. Strange.
Yeah, to go ahead in an away match, so late in the game, you'd expect them to break open the champagne. I'm not reading too much into it: Wszolek always seems to work hard for the team and Sylla added something when he came on yesterday. Odd, though.
I've just watched it back on the extended highlights ( bigger and clearer ) and Sylla turns smiles and raises both arms and looks to the bench before the shot cuts away. Wszolek looks towards the bench as well. Maybe they were being professional and looking for guidance on playing the rest of the game out?
Incredible that apart from a pair of England U19 and U21 goals, those were Jack Robinson's first ever league goals in 104 games played and it could have been a hat-trick. Hopefully more in him too.
