They literally write any headline they can to get people to click it. It’s their job. They couldn’t care less whether the headline is relevant or fair or not. That’s not their job. As you say it Reach’s business model It’s why you see all the ‘you won’t believe this happened’ bollocks before social media posts. You will believe it, and they know you will, it’s literally just there to keep the clicks turning over. Yesterday they literally put a tweet out asking for people to name ‘Hull’s worse dog poo spots’… That’s not journalism because that isn’t their job either. Only real way to challenge it is by stopping looking (you’ll also find yourself less annoyed too) because if everyone stopped looking they wouldn’t get their click based advertising revenue and so would have to change their business model. As usual the consumers really do have the power, it’s just not enough of them care about it. If you read their stuff, and get outraged enough to comment on it, you are simply helping them earn more money which will encourage more of this ****. Turn off their oxygen supply
This kind of eminently sensible, well considered, reasonable and accurate post has no place on this board. Mods!!!!!!!!
I saw the other day that the BBC getting rid of Ken Bruce has lost them 1.5 million listeners, and these listeners have moved to the station where Ken Bruce is now. So people power does work.
Quite Why on earth anyone with a vote wouldn’t use it I don’t understand (different thing but same issue a think)
As an exile living in Cornwall I always used to use the Hull Live app for local news especially about City. I don’t bother now as the app is crap to use and the Hull Live reporting is just bollocks. Now I follow City through this forum where in the main I enjoy the many different opinions on here. Just for the record I think the recent LR thread was really good.
Worth mentioning, Oliver Burke for them was pretty good on the right, probably hasn't flourished as much as he was expected to, but nevertheless, a quality player.
In Clarendon after the match I got my dosh out for the round, and Mick just looked, held his hand out, and went to the bar without a word said. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
