Was a little confused at first as to why Williams wasn't even included on the bench, but was happy with the more attacking line up.

From the updates I heard from BBC could/should it have been more than 1? Either way, a good three points.

Taylor put in a good shift.

Skuse doesn't get much of a mention but I thought he was terrific.

    GET IN, AV IT !

Our slump to midtable continues Spanish....... ;) Fair shout, EVEN Spanish said something positive towards Mick. Give me results over style of play any day of the week, we were stylish enough under Jewell for large spells and towards the end of Magilton, amounted to nothing.

It's like building a house, you sort out the foundations before adding the fancy things.

Would you put a fancy porch / amazing kitchen in an unbuilt house?!

Reading draw 1-1 at home to EIGHT MEN Yeovil Town! EIGHT MEN!!!!

13 games remaining, and four points off the play offs. We're in with a sniff (not the Adrian Mutu stuff) but we're in the mix.

Middlesborough away next, who have scored a grand total of ZERO goals in SEVEN games.................! COYB.

Speaking of TWTD does anyone else read the comments on there and just shake their heads in utter disbelief at some of the utter rubbish that gets posted by our so called fellow supporters! <yikes> Some are actually now calling for Mick's head! They obviously don't realise just how far we have come since the dark days of the Jewell era! Bloody fools!

Some of the points made are valid, like the fact that mick was not going to play him etc but that is no reason to call for the guy to be sacked! You know my thoughts on MM but i would not call gor him to be sacked because he refuses to play one player. I have plenty of things i dislike him for, still at least he hasnt butted another player, lol, Pardew what a prick, never liked him either and see no reason to change my mind!!

To be honest warky I hardly ever check twtd, unless very topical article. I much prefer our banter, comments, honest and general knowledge & experience on here! Good blokes all, so long as we keep to the threads and don't get too ambushed!..ormindeed waylaid...wouldn't mind the latter! :emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm:

Good win keeps us rolling along nicely to I geuss where we thought we would be. But I agree with Mick in really it's Wigans to lose now, they've got a very good squad and now a very very good manager, if they don't go up through the playoffs this season I can see them being the team to watch next season, I've been very impressed with Rosler.

Good win today but tinged with frustration for me, it's blatently obvious to me that despite Taylors good show (finally we have a bit of a livewire in the team) he's destined for the exit and likely that one mistake and he'll be out of the team, when actually he offers something for us. You Mick football games do involve being in possession of the football aswell as not having it.......god his stubbornness of don't get beat gets frustrating, doesn't he see if he takes a few more risks is a bit more expansive in his play he could do so much better but no lets keep faith with the average players and grinding results out, it does my nut in sometimes.

Yes you can build foundations but under Mick we will never be an exciting team it's just not his way and under other managers we've played far more progressive football with the foundations in place i.e Burley, Royle and Magilton. We seem to have gone from one extreme to the other from Jewell to Mick.

PTC Thank god we have gone from one extreme to the other!

If we hadn't we would be playing the likes of Colchester and Crawley this season!

Oh yes, TWTD is moron central for the most part. I can ( now I have my Spanish tattoo ) cope with one mentalist on not606, TWTD would be the end of me!

As a sidenote though, I do think it's horrific management from McCarthy to tell the press Taylor was originally not in the starting line up. While I'm pleased McCarthy has praised him after, if I was Taylor I think I'd be more than slightly ****ed off with that to be honest!

All this hoohaa about Taylor has been blown out of all proportion!

Mick was being clever by giving Taylor a much needed kick up the arse and judging by Taylor's performance on the park yesterday it worked an absolute treat! Players respond positively in different ways, some like an arm round the shoulder, others prefer to be set a challenge. It's great man management from Mick as Taylor obviously went out yesterday to prove a point!

that's not the point of the argument, Mick could've got us where we are now being a little more progressive than we have been. It's about balance and I think Mick goes to far one way, there's no denying we needed to sort out our soft underbelly and make sure we weren't walk overs anymore which Mick did outstandingly but I just feel he could do more with the talent he has in terms of his own talent and in terms of player personnel if he was a bit more progressive in his thinking

Didn't you start up a post saying you didn't think we'd see Taylor playing in an Ipswich shirt again??

I don't think Mick was being clever, he just doesn't really favour Taylor at the end of the day he wouldn't even have played were it not for Williams being injured which I think shows to me that Taylor is likely to be out of the club in the summer. I bet Taylor won't be in the team for very long. We all know you like Mick and he has done an outstanding job but surely you can't put a positive spin on everything he does??
