It looks like McShane is definitely out and Elmo is a major doubt, no decision has been made yet on the keeper.
Steve Bruce more or less confirms tonight to Burnsy that McShane wont play @ Birmingham and Elmo is more to do with all his travelling than playing. Maybe Rosenoir on the right and Brady on the left in the wingbacks role. Bruce could play Quinn on the left and Meyler in the middle as another option. I would suggest that Bruce will go with Amos again. Amos was not the reason we lost at Cardiff City. Despite the mistakes Amos is making he is yet to cost us a game. Anymore though anytime soon and his place could well be switched to the bench.
I think we'll win, but we won't keep a clean sheet, not with Amos in there. The lad looks **** hot at shot stopping, but then when it comes to things like coming for crosses and corners, you never get the feeling it's going to be more than a 30% chance he'll get there. With all the protection goalkeepers get, he should be flinging himself at every ball, but instead when a corner comes in he just sort of looks lost. Anybody else know why, when we do get a corner, our CB stands right in front of Amos, preventing him from moving at all? Is that a **** tactic or is there some Derren Brown style psych out thing that I'm missing here? Birmingham aren't bad, we tend to **** against teams that are struggling, but they are unbeaten in 6 so I'll go 2-1, but with Marlon to score first.
as I posted on the footy mad site, if we are to be taken seriously as promotion rivals, we have to win these matches. Hull City 2 - 0 Birmingham
Tickler, Blackpool at home and Cardiff away are two games, if he hadn't ****ed up we'd have drawn both and been 2 points better off. And it doesn't matter if mistakes are costing games or not, just because we are fortunate or unfortunate enough to have a 2 goal lead or a 2 goal deficit respectively at the time he decides to show off his circus talents, doesn't mean those mistakes should be ignored. He's erratic, panicky, and thick as pig ****. One day he might make a decent goalie keeper but at the minute he's ****e and nowhere near the standard we should be looking for. Definite weakest position in the team by a long shot.
I think we might just edge it by the odd goal, we do seem to perform better after a few days in between games.
They seem to have a few out too, Curtis Davies is a doubt, Keith Fahey has been granted compassionate leave for an indefinite period, Leroy Lita has returned to Swansea due to injury, Paul Caddis is out with a shoulder injury, Akwasi Asante has a hamstring injury and Stephen Carr is a long-term absentee.
Glad about Amos and Bruce gave that impression to Burnsy on last nights sportstalk. I think we shall get the same reaction @ Birmingham to what we had at Brizzle City after the Middlesboro match. Then 2 very interesting home games @ the KC against Burnley and Crystal Palace. What price City being top after Palace ? Must check some odds out on that one.
I think we will win, just been a stuck a fiver on Aluko to score first and us to win 2-1 (40-1 odds)!!
