How was Mesa first half lads? Seemed comfortable on the gall the bit I saw of him second half but got caught in possession a few times.

Very excited about Abraham , Ayew and Mesa as the season closes in on us . VDH had a nice goal brought back , but had little to do otherwise .

We're still off where we need to be for our first game this season , I appreciate that it was a another opportunity to give everyone a game but looking at what we had on the bench today then we're in for a long season if thats why we've got to rely on. Poor 1st half in terms of creativity or should I say lack of .No width or movement off the ball trying to play through the middle suited Birmingham better than it did us.The game was crying out for a goal and to be fair to BHam they had a few chances which should have have gone in but we scored and that seemed to kick start the game when we could have had another soon after.but the game settled back to it's previous state but we then scored the second which was a shot cruelly deflected past their keeper .Good crowd today but that can't said of the game , much more to do imo before we're ready to go and yet another preseason dominated about players coming or going means that the preparation has left a lot to be desired.

 

That was a good work out, Birmingham looked good maybe worth an out side bet for playoffs. Abraham looks what he is a well drilled Chelsea striker, fluid, knows where to be and good final touch. I think he will be a handfull for most Premier league defences. And with Ayew and Llorente picking up the loose balls off him we could be a surprise package next season.

 

Quick feet, one touch footballer who can intercept & has an eye for a good pass..he was caught in possession a couple of times today so will have to learn quickly that some refs particularly in the prem don't always blow up when Swans players are fouled. Definitely a great acquisition & with a bit more quality around him (ie not Fulton) will be our midfield maestro.
