I see you are carrying on the tradition of spelling players names wrong, no e in our Sharp I think. Come back Otesembar, Otmosober or whatever his name was. Not to metion Tandonarni...
Will be a hard game..need to get that elusive early goal, but nowhere near the cert for Birmingham that some seem to expect.
It's on the telly ... oh dear. Let's see how young Billy fares. He must start, surely. Debut goal in first minute would be nice. As others have said, the Brum are rolling over teams, but maybe we'll be made of sterner stuff than their recent opponents and I can't see them not giving us chances to score. They are at home, they'll be set up to attack. For once we might not be playing someone who is more worried about how we'll play. Could be good, but I am deffo wearing the lucky brown pants!
Just looked at Zigic's stats: scored 5 league goals in 13 starts and 12 sub appearances. Not that impressive when you consider Lambert, Guly and Sharp.
So before the Leeds game, he was 1 in 12 starts and 13 sub showings? Not exactly daunting, but yes, it's form and confidence that means the most. If he plays, he'll come on with high levels of belief.
I would like to see the two big men upfront with a right footer on the right and a left footer on the left getting early balls whipped in for Sharp and Lambert to attack. Puncheon is a pro footballer so should at least be able to put a shift in for the first half on Saturday. Davis Richardson Fonte Martin Fox Lallana Cork (or Hammond) Scneiderlin Puncheon Sharp Lambert I'm predicting we'll play the same team in the same positions as Tuesday, play without enough width and get beat 3-0
I want to see our fans doing this when Tadanari scores in the 90th minute.
Some great suggested starting 11's for us there, but Martin looks vulnerable, just not convinced he has the skill or confidence at this level. Looks like we have no alternative but to play him though. Will the strategy of loading the front line in the transfer window and not getting in a centre back be proved flawed?
Not wishing to offend, but have you even watched him live recently? I would hazard a guess that you haven't. If you have though, then you clearly do not, and probably never will, understand football.
Hey Tadders, little tip; if you don't wish to offend, then don't write in a manner which is likely to do so. Don't let the fact that I have seen every match in which he has played for us get in the way of your guesswork. He is not up to the standard of many many other Championship centre backs, and would be nowhere in the Premiership. Unfortunate fact for him is that he is weak link in the team (certainly when Harding is not playing!) and from what I have read I am not alone in my ignorant delusions. Now, not wishing to offend, but bog off...
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. You can't just say they're wrong just because they disagree with you. You are not God.
The thing that must be remembered with Aaron Martin is that he is still inexperienced at LEAGUE level, let alone Championship level. From what I have seen of him,he appears to be improving and gaining confidence with every game he plays. My personal opinion is that he is a good back up for Jos and Jose and will learn and improve and possibly become our first choice Center Back in the future. Lets not write off the lad's Saints career after only 14 games. As for the match, I really think that we are getting back to form, with Adam, Jose and Rickie back in the team and Billy to come in, I'm going for a score draw and hopefully Billy to score on his debut.
