If we play to the best we can using our tactics, very few if any will be able to beat us in this division. I’m fine teams knowing how we play, it’s when we have an off day that the problems creep in. Look at the second half of the Preston game, they still knew our tactics from the first half but because we played nearer to the football we can it mattered not, they had no answer. The reason we never took all three points was how poorly we played in that first half, not being able to pass a ball 20 yards, getting caught in possession, over hitting crosses, poor decision making, it all cost us. Preston played okay but we’re miles better than them, the reason we’re sitting second, the reason we just missed out last season and the vast improvement we’ve seen under Bielsa with a group of average players is because he has them playing the same football week in and week out. Why can’t Nketiah walk into our team to replace a misfiring Bamford? Because he hasn’t got the way Bielsa wants him to play ingrained into his head yet. Start asking this group of players to play different and we’d see a massive downturn in form. This is championship football, the division is full of average players, it’s full of loanees learning their trade as they’re 4th choice at their parent club, we under estimate how hard it is to just change tactics to neutralise the opposition, play to your best and let others worry.

Wonder if WBA are in dispute with Sky. All games are being shown via the red button apart from their home game vs Boro. It was the same on Boxing Day for their game at Barnsley. Hopefully Sky will still show WBA vs Leeds on New Year’s Day.

spot on, knowing what’s coming and stopping it are two different things. Opposition managers have known since aug 2018 what was coming. I would emphasise, that having a set way of playing where everyone knows their job, lives and breathes it... and buys into it... is critical... it’s what sets one average group of players above another. That’s why he won’t change for the sake of it. And why he won’t pull a player for another who may be a better individual.. but can’t fulfil his role in the machine... with nketiah it might be that he doesn’t know the role but more likely that he has a different set of attributes to bamford
